Job summary

Sécheron Hasler Group in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical & Industrialization Engineer for Traction Power Systems to transfer production, solve complex mechanical issues, and document designs with SOLIDWORKS.

You will manage BOMs in Oracle ERP, collaborate with procurement and production teams across Europe, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with project schedules and client specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in power systems and mechanical engineering
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and mechanical design principles

Responsibilities

• Production transfer and coordination with customer project teams and global sites to move manufacturing to the Bangalore facility.
• Provide on-site technical support to resolve mechanical issues during production and assembly.
• Update and maintain mechanical documentation using SOLIDWORKS for traction cubicles and converter stations; implement modifications.
• Design and implement cost-effective technical solutions aligned with current tech trends and customer specs; follow the PDM workflow for design improvements.
• Manage BOM creation and modification in Oracle ERP to ensure documentation traceability from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with procurement and production for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve malfunctions in client converter projects and manage workflows to meet schedules.
• Share knowledge to optimize project implementation and manufacturing efficiency.

To support the expansion of our team, we are seeking to hire in Bangalore a dynamic and motivated Mechanical & Industrialization Engineer - Traction Power Systems - SHIN.

Requirements

As a key member of the engineering team, interfacing with our production sites, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Production Transfer & Coordination: Interface with customer project teams and global production sites to facilitate the seamless transfer of manufacturing to the Bangalore facility.
• Technical Problem Solving: Provide on-site technical support to resolve complex mechanical issues during the production and assembly phases.
• Design & Documentation: Update and maintain mechanical documentation using SOLIDWORKS for traction cubicles and converter station products, incorporating modifications from customer project teams and production feedback.
• Solution Engineering: Design and implement cost-effective, high-quality technical solutions that align with current technology trends, resource availability, and customer specifications. Follow the PDM workflow to submit design improvements.
• Data Management: Manage the creation and modification of Bills of Materials (BOM) within the ORACLE ERP system to ensure accurate documentation from the prototype stage through full-scale production.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Partner with the procurement team to provide mechanical engineering expertise and collaborate with production staff to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Initiative: Take decisive action to resolve malfunctions in client converter projects and manage workflows to ensure all deliverables meet strict project schedules.
• Knowledge Sharing: Providing conceptual and structural mechanical insights to optimize project implementation and manufacturing efficiency.

Candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility in his/her working hours to ensure effective collaboration with production sites and international stakeholders across different time zones.

Minimum 4 years of experience in power systems and general mechanical engineering background.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, interacting with international colleagues (mainly Europe)
• PDM experience (Preferred)
• Knowledge and proficiency in ERP tools (Oracle is a plus)
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment and industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL) is a plus.
