Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical) required.
• 10–15 years of valve maintenance experience.
• Experience with actuator/positioner maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally for long deputation.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee valve installation checks, loop tests, stroking, and interlock validation.
• Set operating/calibration conditions for valves, actuators, during startup.
• Manage site schedule and progress for valve testing and commissioning milestones.
• Control manpower and diagnostic tools; support maintenance and valve preservation.

Profile: Valve Specialist (Maintenance & Trouble Shooting)

Experience: 10yrs-18yrs

Job Summary

The Valve Specialist, based on his/her deep technical experience and knowledge, yields proposal outputs to ensure technically and financially competitive results (Manning, Budget, Technical Bid Evaluation, etc.). The specialist conducts comprehensive engineering reviews from both commissioning and maintenance perspectives to facilitate flawless project execution after award. On the project side, he/she contributes to the successful completion of the project within the planned manning, budget, and schedule. If required, specialized Production, Operation, and Maintenance Management—including valve diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance strategies—shall be requested.

• Engineering & Document Review: ITB, contract, and other engineering documents 3D Model Review) & study for Project/Proposal.
• Proposal & Estimation Support: Preparation of Technical Documents, Budget Estimations, and Manning Plans for Valve procurement, testing, and specialized site services.
• Deliverables : Preparation of Pre-commissioning/Commissioning Deliverables up P&IDs for System definition, and Work Packages for specialized valve activities. to valve tags and tasks
• Interface Management: Technical coordination and clarification with Valve Vendors/Manufacturers, Clients, and internal engineering disciplines.
• Sub-contracting Preparation: Prepare technical scopes of work for contracting.

In Site - Project

• - Control and supervise valve installation checks, loop tests, stroking, and interlock validation.
• - Set optimal operating and calibration conditions for valves, actuators, and positioners during the plant Start-up phase.

Project Control

• Site Work Schedule and Progress Control for valve-related testing and commissioning milestones.

Resource & Equipment Control

• Manpower, specialized diagnostic tools (e.g., valve diagnostics kits), and equipment control; support site work preparation and valve preservation management.

Sub-contractor Management

• Management of valve service vendors and specialized sub-contractors on-site.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting (Operation Phase)

• Performance diagnosis and optimization of various process valves (Globe, Gate, Ball, Butterfly, etc.), Actuators, and Positioners.
• Failure analysis and troubleshooting, including valve seal/packing damage during operation, and establishing immediate technical solutions.
• Development of Valve Maintenance Manuals and preparation of technical reports on operational and performance improvements.
• Establishment of long-term Predictive and Preventive Maintenance (PPM) strategies for critical plant valves.

Education:

• Bachelors in Engineering or the equivalent technical degree required
• Major in Mechanical engineering

Experience:

• At least 10 to 15 years of experience in Valve Maintenance
• Experience in Actuator/Positioner maintenance, performance diagnosis, and troubleshooting

Skills:

• Familiarity and fluency with Maintenance & Trouble Shooting, activities in Process
• Valves (Globe, Gate, Ball, etc.) Willingness to travel domestically or internationally for long deputation as per job requirements.
• Should have good communication skills both verbal & written (English)

Other Desirable Requirements

Experience in troubleshooting within EPC projects, including experience from major valve vendors such as Control Valves and PSVs
