Job summary

vConstruct is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support development of mechanical designs across all project phases. You will contribute to drawings, specifications, and calculations for HVAC, hydronic, piping, and equipment, working with engineers, BIM/modeling teams, and external consultants.

This role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to codes and standards, and construction administration tasks such as reviewing submittals, RFIs, site visits, and ensuring delivery within scope,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, hydronic, piping, and mechanical equipment systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and engineering calculations throughout all phases of project design.
• Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical systems, including HVAC, hydronic systems, piping networks, and mechanical equipment.
• Develop basic analytical models using knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, BIM/modeling teams, and external consultants to deliver coordinated and integrated design solutions.
• Participate in construction administration activities, including reviewing contractor submittals, responding to RFIs, and assisting with site visits and field observations as directed.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with project scope, quality standards, budget, and schedule.

• Exposure to construction administration processes
• Proficiency with mechanical design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
