KBR, Inc in India seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer- Static Equipment to lead FEED/EPC/EPCM activities for process equipment including pressure vessels, storage tanks, and reactors. You will guide designers, review vendor documents, and ensure compliance with ASME/API codes while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams on global projects.

Responsibilities include technical leadership, estimating effort, and supporting project execution with a strong emphasis on integrity, safety, and quality

Qualifications

  • Graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering with extensive EPC/PMC exposure.
  • Experience with FEED and EPC/EPCM activities and technical documentation.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design reviews for pressure vessels, storage tanks and related equipment.
  • Oversee Material Requisitions, technical specifications and vendor document reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, API and other international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key Engineers and officials of other organizations. Subject matter expert in Process Equipment that includes but not limited to Pressure Vessels, Spheres, Storage Tanks, Process Columns, Column Internals, Reactors, Scrubbers, Unfired Heat Transfer equipment, Electric Heaters, Silos, Bins, Mounded Vessels, Pig Launchers and Receivers. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget. Willing to travel globally and undertake short term assignments with other KBR offices/ client offices or with project site facility as needed to support projects. Responsible for effectively meeting the Project schedules and able to suggest improvement methods for effective handling of Projects.

Qualifications

Skills are typically acquired through a graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of demonstrated experience and average experience ranging from 16 - 20 years. Hands-on experience with FEED and EPC/EPCM activities including but not limited preparation of Material Requisition, Technical Specification, Design using ASME, API and other International Codes/ Standard, Mechanical Data Sheets, Supplier offer review, Technical Bid Evaluation, Vendor Documents Review and Interfaces with Inter disciplines as required. At least 8 years of experience in EPC is preferred. Experience in fabrication Industry is a plus. Experience in PMC projects (a plus). Experience in the mechanical design of heat exchangers (a plus). Shall be able to lead a team of Engineers/Designers and to effectively communication/ work with other KBR Centers and Client; Willing to work as a Requisition Engineer as well if Project demands; Responsible for the hours estimate and hours allocation to the resources allocated to Project, based on the tasks and effective completion of the tasks within budgeted hours. Good oral and written communication skills. Good attitude and able to work as a team player resolving all conflicts that may arise. Worked with process equipment in the shop or field (a plus). Participation in the inspection of equipment at shop or field (a plus). Experience in material selection per process requirements in compliance with various national and international codes and standards. Expertise in software used in the design of pressure vessels such as DISASU, PVElite and/or COMPRESS. Expertise in software used in design of storage tanks such as AMETANK. Good knowledge of NACE compliance and lethal service requirements. Working Knowledge of FEA using software like ANSYS, Nozzle Pro etc (a plus). Exposure to European codes for process and storage equipment (a plus). Working knowledge of wind and seismic analysis using various National and International codes, standards and case studies. Working knowledge on re-rating of process equipment, repair and re-qualification of fabricated equipment. Knowledge of NDT requirement, code stamping and WPS /PQR preferred.
