Job summary

Flowserve Corporation in Bengaluru is seeking a technical writer to create installation, operation and maintenance documentation for pumps and related systems. You will develop service manuals, assembly/disassembly procedures and user guides in line with BU standards.

Requires a mechanical engineering background with 4+ years of technical writing experience in pumps, ability to read engineering drawings, and hands-on pump assembly knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4+ years or Diploma with 5+ years of technical writing experience in Pump or related mechanical industry.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/technical documents/reports.
• Hands on experience in pump assembly, repair and servicing is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Works on service manuals/operational manual for all Flowserve-SIHI pumps and systems.
• Performs documentation work that is varied and complex, under minimum supervision.
• Gather inputs, review scope, and complete tasks meeting customer expectations.
• Create technical documents by following established business unit standards and procedures with reliable results.
• Performs document self and peer checking to ensure high quality submissions.
• Deliver clear and complete technical documents on time and update stakeholders.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for creating technical documentation for pumps involving IOM (Installation, Operation, Maintenance), Service / Operational manuals, Assembly, and disassembly procedures.

Accountabilities:

• Works on service manuals/operational manual for all Flowserve-SIHI pumps and systems.
• Performs documentation work that is varied and complex, under minimum supervision.
• Gather all relevant information for each assignment, review all the inputs, understand scope of work, and complete the assigned task by meeting or exceeding customer expectation.
• Create technical documents by following established business unit standards and procedures by producing consistent and reliable results.
• Performs document self and peer checking process and achieves high quality in submissions.
• Deliver clear and complete technical documents as per the deliverables of the assignment, ensuring On-time delivery and quality. Timely update status to all the stakeholders.
• Understand the basic functions of documentation control, document preservation and computer filing.
• Maintain and develop technical and other interpersonal skills, always in full compliance with company policies, using the resources productively and innovatively.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4 years and above or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years and above of technical writing experience in Pump or related mechanical industry.
• Excellent ability to read and understand engineering drawings/technical documents/reports.
• Ability to understand the mechanical product/system assembling and dismantling procedures and maintained procedures by considering ease maintained and user safety.
• Hands on experience in pump assembly, repair and servicing is an added advantage.
