Job summary

Clevertech Packaging Automation Solutions Private in Pune is seeking a Junior Design Engineer with an ITI background and 1–3 years of hands-on experience to convert design concepts into shop-ready production drawings and ensure seamless translation from blueprints to assembly.

You will perform 2D drafting, 3D modeling in SolidWorks, BOM management, GD&T tolerance assignments, exploded views, and provide shop-floor support to resolve drawing issues and updates.

Qualifications

• ITI in Mechanical Draftsman
• 3 years of practical design, drafting, or detailing experience within SPMs, packaging equipment, or automated machine lines
• SolidWorks proficiency for modeling, assembly, and drafting

Responsibilities

• Detailed 2D Drafting: Convert 3D models into accurate, production-ready 2D mechanical component drawings and machining blueprints
• 3D Parts Modeling: Build and modify 3D mechanical detail models and sub-assemblies using SolidWorks 3D CAD
• BOM Management: Draft, cross-check, and review complete Bill of Materials to ensure precise tracking of raw materials and standard catalog components
• Tolerance Application (GD&T): Perform basic dimensional analysis to correctly assign manufacturing tolerances, surface finishes, and limits/fits
• Exploded Assemblies: Prepare clear exploded views, assembly diagrams, and machine installation layout sheets for final production use
• Shop Floor & Production Support: Regularly interface with the assembly and manufacturing production lines to resolve drawing modifications and update ECN

Job Overview:

We are seeking an execution-focused Junior Design Engineer with an ITI background and 1 to 3 years of experience to join our team in Pune. You will play a vital role in transforming mechanical design concepts and customized layouts into accurate, shop-ready production drawings. This role bridges the gap between engineering blueprints and the factory assembly floor.

Job key deliverables:

• Detailed 2D Drafting: Convert 3D models into accurate, production-ready 2D mechanical component drawings and machining blueprints.

Candidate Profile & Technical Skills:

• Education: ITI in Mechanical Draftsman


• Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical design, drafting, or detailing experience within Special Purpose Machines (SPM), packaging equipment, or automated machine manufacturing lines.


• CAD Software: Strong hands-on proficiency in using SolidWorks for modeling, assembly, and drafting operations.


• Manufacturing Knowledge: Sound understanding of primary engineering materials, workshop machining operations (milling, turning, grinding), and standard tolerances.


• Standard Parts Selection: Basic familiarity with selecting standard mechanical fasteners, pneumatic fittings, and bearings from engineering catalogs.


• Basic Physics & Math: Understanding of fundamental mechanical layout principles (linear speeds, dimensions, and machine geometry footprints).


• Software Tools: Operational knowledge of basic computer applications like Microsoft Word and Excel for managing parts spreadsheets. Good hands on PDM/PLM and ERP

Soft Skills

• Strong teamwork and communication skills to work closely with senior designers and assembly technicians.


• A pro-active, problem-solving attitude to resolve layout constraints dynamically on the workshop floor.
