Job summary

Hitachi Energy's Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in Power Transformers to join a multinational design team.

You will prepare General Arrangement drawings, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and coordinate with global factories to meet project schedules.

A bachelor's in mechanical engineering with 2–7 years' transformer design experience and strong English communication are required; CAD experience and fabrication drawings are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2–7 years' experience in mechanical design for power transformers.
• Experience with order designs, customer drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience in simulation or software development advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams worldwide; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare General Arrangement, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and submit to customers per project schedule.
• Contribute to the global design work within the International Design and Engineering Team.
• Develop transformer designs in coordination with Hitachi Energy factories based on PO requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factory network.
• Participate in internal design concept reviews and ensure compliance with regulations.

How you’ll make an impact

• The successful candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team heavily specialized in Power Transformers design covering different countries.
• Preparation of General Arrangement, fabrication drawings, Bill of materials and submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Will be part of a Global Engineering Centre team and your task is to contribute to the global design work with positive team atmosphere and networking.
• Responsible for development of transformer designs in coordination with global Hitachi Energy factory based on the purchase order requirement, ordering specification in different areas of transformer mechanical design.
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree of Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 - 7 years’ experience working in mechanical design for Power Transformers.
• Candidates with higher experience also to be considered. Experience in order designs,
• Experience in Customer drawings & fabrication drawings.
• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Additional languages knowledge is considered an advantage.
• Quick learner with ability to master new areas
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
