Job summary

Zentron Labs is seeking aMechanical Design Engineer to conceptualize new designs, plan design & development, and coordinate with teams and vendors for flawless project execution. You will ensure on-time delivery with high quality and provide technical leadership to a team of mechanical engineers.

The role emphasizes design reviews, FE analysis, and contributing to product roadmap sustainment while driving cost reductions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical engineering experience in Special Purpose Machines and automation systems.

• Conceptualize and create new designs

• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for flawless execution of projects
• Ensure that all design projects are delivered on-time at the required level of quality.

• Define roles, set goals for team members to deliver production worthy designs
• Performance management to ensure high levels of productivity and creativity
• Contribute towards the support of product roadmap & sustainment plans.
• Recommend and propose design changes/re-designs.
• Monitor product quality and identify quality improvement opportunities.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Engineering analysis and corrective actions for field issues.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven mechanical engineering experience in Special Purpose Machines, Automation Systems
• Hands-on experience in usage of mechanical CAD tools such as Fusion360, AutoCAD, CATIA.
• Experience in usage of Fusion360 is an advantage
• Experience in planning and tracking mechanical design activities
• Excellent communication skills
• Hands on experience in design calculations and FE analysis
• Must be strong team player with the ability to work in a matrix organization structure
• Exposure to working in a startup/MSME environment will be highly desirable
• Exposure to design of optical metrology systems would be an added advantage
• Must be detail oriented with ability to get into nuts and bolts of the issues
• Must come across as a role model for team members to emulate
