Job summary

Ecolab Food Safety & Hygiene Solutions Private Limited in Pune seeks an Acquisition Engineer to interpret specifications, determine project deliverables, and ensure compliant, safe design delivery across projects.

You will generate 2D/3D CAD drawings (AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks), prepare BOMs, perform basic engineering analysis and support Operations with drawings and calculations; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Three to five years’ experience in mechanical design of water treatment plants.
• Completed internship in CAD with 2–5 years and/or equivalent education/experience.
• Familiar with ISO, DIN, ASME VIII, B31.1, B31.3 and water treatment systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and clarify specifications to determine project deliverables.
• Generate 2D/3D CAD drawings for equipment, piping layouts and mechanical design details.
• Provide design calculations and documentation support for project work.
• Apply safety standards to equipment and services.
• Produce P&ID diagrams under guidance of Process/Mechanical/Automation Engineers.
• Create parts lists, BOMs and technical documentation for manufacture.
• Support Operations with drawings or calculations as needed.
• Perform basic engineering analysis and report project status as required.
• Travel may be required nationally or internationally.

Job description

Acquisition Engineer Review, understand, interpret and clarify all applicable specifications, to determine and fulfil project requirements and deliverables.

Generating design, general arrangement and other submittal drawings within estimated hours and timescales.

Provide design calculations and documentation support for project work.

Work closely with all functions of the business to ensure that the most economic, safe and suitable design is achieved.

Implement improvements to the current range of standard equipment and services and develop ideas for future.

Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings for equipment, civil work layouts and mechanical design details to specific requirements within piping and plant construction.

Produce installation and piping arrangement drawings Produce steel construction drawings, isometric drawings and any other special detailed drawings

Produce process flow diagrams (P&ID diagram) under guidance of Process, Mechanical and Automation Engineers

Produce parts-lists, bills of materials and technical documentation during and prior to being issued for manufacture.

Apply and supervise the application of safety standards to those equipments and services.

Maintain, update and progress the standard drawings and data for a particular product or equipment.

Provide technical support to Operations by generating sales assistance, drawings, or calculations.

Performing basic engineering analysis; Advising Project Management and Project Engineers of project status while adhering to all company and corporate policies; Other duties may be assigned as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in relevant industry and preferably previous experience in mechanical design of water treatment plants.
• Completed internship in computer aided design with between two (2) to five (5) years and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiar with International Standards E.g. ISO, DIN, ASME VIII, B31.1 , B31.3 Knowledge and familiarity within Water Treatment Systems and its used materials and components.

SKILLS

• Technical Drawing Standards to BS8888:2020 and ISO 128 Positive and agile attitude and keen to work in a team environment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents.
• Ability to understand English via written and verbal communication.
• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in standard and non-standard situations.
• Use of 2D/3D AutoCAD Drawing systems (AutoCAD Plant 3D, Advance Steel) and Navisworks.
• Knowledge and Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
• Working to Pressure Vessel and Structural Steel Specifications.

The role is office based. Some national and international travel to supplier/client sites could be requested within this role.
