Job summary

MultiplexEV in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Assistant Manager to lead mechanical design for electric tractors and related agri-equipment. The role is on-site, full-time, focusing on conceptualization, 3D modeling, and detailed drawings essential for performance and safety.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, support prototyping and testing, and drive DFMEA and continuous improvement in product design and development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in vehicle or machinery design (construction equipment, farming machinery, material movers, or automotive).
• Strong knowledge of structural design and mechanics; hydraulic circuits and actuators; kinematic linkages and motion systems; gearbox design and selection; FEA.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle structures, frames, and chassis for electric vehicles used in off-road, agriculture, and industrial applications.
• Integrate hydraulic systems including cylinder layouts, valve placement, and load balancing for functional performance.
• Develop and optimize kinematic mechanisms for lifting, steering / articulation, and movement systems.
• Support gearbox design / selection, mechanical transmission integration, and drive system packaging.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design verification using FEA (Structural, Modal, Fatigue).
• Create verification and validation plan for the systems / sub-systems / components owned.
• Generate 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, manufacturing, quality, service, marketing teams.
• Participate in prototype building, field testing, and iterative design validation.
• Ensure designs are aligned with industry standards, safety regulations, and reliability expectations.

The Mechanical Engineer – Assistant Manager | Lead I Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading mechanical design activities for electric tractors and related agricultural equipment. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves conceptualizing and developing mechanical systems and components, performing design calculations, and preparing detailed 3D models and drawings. The role includes coordinating with cross-functional teams for system integration, supporting prototype development and testing, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. The individual will also oversee design reviews, manage documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in product design and development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Experience:

• - 5+ years of experience in vehicle or machinery design (construction equipment, farming machinery, material movers, or automotive).
• - Strong knowledge of:

• * Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS/SolidWorks Simulation preferred)
• - Proficiency inSolidWorks(mandatory).

• - Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, and field validation of mechanical systems.
