Job summary

Genpact is seeking a Management Trainee/ Assistant Manager - MDM to lead end-to-end Vendor Master operations, including onboarding, setup changes, and governance in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment. You will perform due diligence, validate tax details, and ensure data integrity while collaborating with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Tax, and Compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end Vendor Master operations and onboarding processes.
• Ability to review and approve vendor setup requests with accuracy and SLA adherence.
• Familiarity with VAT/GST, CHR/Company registration, and banking information validation.
• Strong data governance and controls to prevent duplicates and ensure data integrity.
• Experience collaborating with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Tax, and Compliance teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Vendor Master operations, including supplier onboarding, creation, modification, blocking/unblocking, and maintenance in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
• Review and approve vendor setup/change requests, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to defined SLAs and governance requirements
• Perform and oversee supplier due diligence checks, including validation of VAT/GST registration, CHR/Company Registration details, Legal Entity Name, tax documentation, and banking information
• Ensure robust controls around duplicate vendor prevention, data validation, and master data governance to mitigate payment and compliance risks
• Manage vendor master workflow queues and prioritize requests to ensure timely processing and stakeholder satisfaction
• Investigate and resolve complex vendor master data issues, banking changes, supplier record discrepancies, and onboarding escalations
• Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Tax, Compliance, Treasury, and Business teams to ensure seamless supplier onboarding and maintenance
• Monitor data quality through periodic reviews, audits, and cleansing activities to maintain high levels of master data integrity
• Generate and analyze Vendor Master KPIs, aging reports, productivity dashboards, and governance metrics to drive operational performance
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate supplier documentation and ensuring compliance with established controls
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process standardization, automation, and enhancement of supplier onboarding workflows
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and knowledge repositories to ensure consistency across operations
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical vendor master issues and stakeholder concerns, ensuring timely resolution
• Lead and mentor a team of Vendor Master analysts, including workload allocation, quality reviews, training, coaching, and performance management
• Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and team development initiatives while fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture
