Job summary

CSC Healthcare And Wellness Services is seeking an experienced Laboratory Services head to oversee all activities of the medical laboratory. Responsibilities include advising on tests, ensuring data reliability, staffing, budgeting, and compliance with ISO 15189 and NABL guidelines.

You will coordinate with quality management, supervise reporting of hematology and biochemistry results, and uphold safety, confidentiality, and staff development standards across the lab.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice to those requesting information about the choice of tests, the use of the laboratory service and the interpretation of laboratory data.
• Monitoring all work performed in the laboratory to determine that reliable data are being generated.
• Ensure that there are sufficient qualified personnel with adequate documented training and experience to meet the needs of the laboratory.
• Plan, set goals, develop, and allocate resources appropriate to the medial environment.
• Provide effective and efficient administration of the medical laboratory service, including budget planning and control with responsible financial management, in accordance with institutional assignment of such responsibilities.
• Implement a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable regulations.
• Address any complaint, request or suggestion from users of laboratory services.
• Ensure good staff morale.
• Providing necessary resources for operating the laboratory to meet the requirements of ISO 15189: 2022.
• Monitoring and suggesting on purchase of equipment and reagents to maintain the Quality medical care.
• To ensure adequate method verifications and new test methods/equipment performance verifications as per the procedures to determine the reliability of the procedures to meet needs of the user
• Ensure confidentiality of client and proprietary information.
• Responsible for identifying and recruiting competent personnel.
• Select and monitor referral laboratories for quality of service.
• Is responsible for the overall activities of the Laboratory Services.
• Control of documents including updating whenever necessary and to maintain records including issue of copies.
• Participation and monitoring of External and Internal Training Programs.
• Monitoring quality indicators
• Coordinating with Quality manager regarding all aspects related to quality management system
• Provide educational programs for the technical staff.
• In coordination with the technical staff address any complaint, request or suggestion form users of laboratory services relevant to the section
• Participate in scheduled PT/ILC Programs and initiate corrective action where necessary.
• Interact with clinicians/patients in informing critical values and initiate action against the same
• Review monthly quality indicator data, internal quality control data, EQAS/PT results and CV%.
• Authorized to report results of Hematology, Clinical Pathology and Routine Biochemistry
• To ensure cleanliness and hygiene of work place as per safety procedures of the organization.
• Awareness about ISO 15189, NABL 112 and laboratory accreditation processes
• Quality control data interpretation and management
