Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead reinforcement planning and Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) activities across multiple high-rise project sites in India. The role requires 8–12 years of experience on high-rise construction, with strong expertise in reinforcement detailing and BBS preparation, and coordination with site teams to ensure timely execution.

The candidate will oversee reinforcement installation, review drawings, monitor steel consumption, and ensure quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech Civil) is mandatory.
• 8–12 years of experience in high-rise building construction projects.
• Strong expertise in reinforcement planning and Bar Bending Schedule (BBS).

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage reinforcement activities for high-rise construction projects.
• Review structural drawings and prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for slabs, beams, columns, foundations.
• Ensure reinforcement planning aligns with construction schedules and formwork cycles.
• Oversee cutting, bending, and placement of reinforcement bars.
• Coordinate reinforcement activities with formwork and concreting operations.
• Monitor steel consumption and wastage levels across project sites.
• Maintain records for steel reconciliation and material tracking.

Role Overview

The candidate will be responsible forplanning, monitoring, and managing reinforcement works and bar bending schedules across project sites. The role involves coordinating with structural drawings, preparing and verifyingBBS, monitoring steel consumption, and ensuring timely execution of reinforcement works in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.

The candidate will work closely withtower execution teams, planning teams, and formwork teams to ensureefficient reinforcement installation and optimal steel utilization.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and managereinforcement activities for high-rise construction projects.

Review structural drawings and prepareBar Bending Schedules (BBS) for various structural elements including slabs, beams, columns, shear walls, and foundations.

Ensure reinforcement planning aligns withconstruction schedules and formwork cycles.

Execution Management

Overseecutting, bending, and placement of reinforcement bars at site.

Ensure reinforcement works are executedas per structural drawings, BBS, and project specifications.

Coordinate reinforcement activities withformwork and concreting operations.

Monitorsteel consumption and wastage levels across project sites.

Ensureefficient use of reinforcement materials and minimize wastage.

Maintain records forsteel reconciliation and material tracking.

Coordination with Site Teams

Coordinate withTower Incharges, Civil Engineers, and Formwork Teams to ensure proper sequencing of reinforcement works.

Provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors regardingreinforcement detailing and placement.

Resolve technical issues related toreinforcement congestion, detailing conflicts, and site constraints.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure reinforcement installation complies withstructural drawings, codes, and quality standards.

Conduct inspections to verifybar spacing, lap lengths, anchorage, and cover requirements.

Ensure reinforcement works passquality checks prior to concreting.

Coordinate withrebar suppliers and bar bending yard teams for cutting and bending operations.

Ensure properhandling, storage, and identification of reinforcement materials.

Monitor performance ofrebar subcontractors and fabrication teams.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records ofBBS, steel consumption reports, and reinforcement progress.

Preparesteel reconciliation statements and progress reports.

Coordinate with billing and planning teams forsteel quantity tracking and reporting.

Technical Skills Required

Strong expertise inreinforcement detailing and Bar Bending Schedule preparation

Ability to interpretstructural drawings and reinforcement detailing

Knowledge ofIS codes and structural reinforcement standards

Experience insteel quantity estimation and reconciliation
