Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an Engineer/Sr. Engineer – Plant & Machinery to manage day-to-day operations at a construction site, ensuring availability and efficient utilization of equipment.

You will coordinate with project execution teams, operators, and service vendors to deploy, maintain, and operate machinery safely. The role requires 5+ years of P&M experience on construction projects, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience may also be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant & Machinery operations on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction machinery and equipment operations at the project site.
• Coordinate with civil execution teams and project management to understand machinery requirements.
• Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and ensure minimal downtime.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper deployment of equipment across work fronts.
• Prepare daily and weekly machinery reports for the P&M Manager.

Role Overview

The Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Plant & Machinery (P&M) will be responsible formanaging day-to-day plant and machinery operations at the construction site, ensuring availability, proper functioning, and efficient utilization of construction equipment.

The role involves coordinating withproject execution teams, equipment operators, and service vendors to ensure timely deployment, maintenance, and safe operation of machinery required for construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

Plant & Machinery Operations

Oversee daily operations ofconstruction machinery and equipment at the project site.

Ensure proper deployment and utilization of machinery required forvarious construction activities.

Monitor equipment availability to supportcontinuous site execution.

Equipment Coordination

Coordinate withcivil execution teams and project management to understand machinery requirements for different construction stages.

Ensure timelymobilization and relocation of equipment across work fronts.

Support planning forfuture machinery requirements based on project schedules.

Machinery Maintenance

Monitor implementation ofpreventive and corrective maintenance schedules for site equipment.

Coordinate withequipment technicians and service vendors for repair and maintenance activities.

Ensure minimalequipment downtime and improved operational reliability.

Trackdaily equipment utilization and operational performance.

Identify opportunities to improveefficiency and reduce idle machinery time.

Monitor fuel consumption and operational efficiency of equipment.

Safety Compliance

Ensure all plant and machinery are operatedin compliance with safety standards and site safety regulations.

Conduct periodicequipment safety inspections.

Ensure operators followsafe operating procedures and equipment guidelines.

Coordinate withequipment operators, technicians, and external service providers.

Ensure machinery operators aretrained and competent in equipment operations.

Monitor performance ofequipment rental vendors and service contractors

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records ofequipment inventory, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.

Trackequipment deployment, utilization, and downtime.

Preparedaily and weekly machinery reports for the P&M Manager.

Technical Skills Required

Good knowledge ofconstruction equipment and machinery used in building construction

Experience handling equipment such astower cranes, passenger/material hoists, batching plants, concrete pumps, bar bending machines, bar cutting machines, compressors, and other construction equipment

Basic understanding ofequipment maintenance and troubleshooting

Familiarity withequipment safety standards and operational procedures

Proficiency inMS Excel and equipment tracking systems
