Job summary

PragmaEdge Software Services Private Limited seeks a skilled Maximo Technical Consultant to join our Hyderabad offshore delivery team. You will lead installation, upgrade, and data migration activities for a MAS/Maximo modernization project, including migrating from IBM SaaS to GCP and upgrading MAS 9.1 to 9.2.

You will work with onshore architects and client stakeholders to ensure stability, data integrity, and seamless go-lives across the Maximo environment in a blended delivery model.

ROLE SUMMARY

PragmaEdge is looking for a skilled Maximo Technical Consultant to join our offshore delivery team based in Hyderabad. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor on a high-impact platform modernization engagement, supporting the migration of IBM Maximo from IBM SaaS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the upgrade of Maximo Application Suite (MAS) from version 9.1 to 9.2. You will work closely with onshore architects, project managers, and client stakeholders to execute installation, upgrade, and data migration activities while ensuring stability, integrity, and continuity of the Maximo environment throughout the transition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation and Upgrade Execution
  • Plan, configure, and execute MAS installation and patch/upgrade activities from version 9.1 to 9.2
  • Perform end-to-end Maximo application upgrades, including pre-upgrade analysis, execution, and post-upgrade validation
  • Deploy and configure Maximo on GCP infrastructure in alignment with solution architecture guidelines
  • Apply interim fixes, fix packs, and patches as required throughout the project lifecycle
• Migration Activities
  • Support and execute the migration of Maximo from IBM SaaS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Perform database migration activities from DB2 to SQL Server, including data validation and integrity checks
  • Collaborate with database and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless data transfer and minimal downtime
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues arising during migration, upgrade, and post-go-live stabilization phases
  • Analyze logs, error traces, and system configurations to identify root causes and implement fixes in a timely manner
  • Escalate complex issues to solution architects with clear documentation and recommended remediation paths
• Retrofit, Integration, and Configuration
  • Assess and handle retrofit activities for customizations, scripts, and configurations impacted by the migration or upgrade
  • Review and update integration touchpoints including APIs, web services, and third-party connectors affected by platform changes
  • Apply configuration changes to Maximo modules, workflows, escalations, and automation scripts post-migration
• Documentation and Collaboration
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation including upgrade runbooks, migration logs, configuration change records, and test results
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder checkpoint meetings
  • Work collaboratively in a blended onshore-offshore delivery model, ensuring clear communication and handoff protocols

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

• Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo or Maximo Application Suite (MAS) installation, configuration, and upgrades
• Demonstrated experience executing MAS or Maximo upgrades across major versions
• Proficiency in database migration, specifically from IBM DB2 to Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong working knowledge of Maximo application architecture including Integration Framework, Workflow, Automation Scripts, and Application Designer
• Experience deploying or supporting Maximo on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Ability to troubleshoot Maximo technical issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers
• Experience managing retrofit activities for customizations and configurations during upgrades
• Familiarity with Maximo integration patterns including REST APIs, XML/JSON-based web services, and OSLC
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting for deployment and diagnostics
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Hands-on experience specifically with MAS 8.x or 9.x on OpenShift or Kubernetes environments
• Prior exposure to IBM SaaS-to-GCP migration projects
• Experience with Maximo for utilities, asset management, or enterprise-scale EAM implementations
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling used in Maximo deployments
• Knowledge of IBM Db2 administration and SQL Server DBA fundamentals
• Understanding of containerized Maximo deployments using Red Hat OpenShift
• IBM Maximo or MAS certification

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience in IBM Maximo technical consulting or administration
• Prior experience working on at least one end-to-end Maximo migration or major upgrade project
• Ability to work in an offshore delivery model with overlapping hours for onshore collaboration
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project delivery environments is preferred
