ABOUT BLUE POLARIS

At Blue Polaris, we are redefining how businesses make decisions. As a global leader in decision automation, AI, and business architecture, we partner with Fortune 500 companies to design intelligent, transparent systems using Decision Model and Notation (DMN) and our proprietary Decisions First™ approach.

We don't just solve problems — we model how organizations think, decide, and act. By combining AI, analytics, business architecture, and human expertise, we help enterprises improve outcomes at scale.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an IBM Maximo Developer to strengthen our enterprise asset management (EAM) capability. This is a hands‑on technical role: you will configure, customize, and extend IBM Maximo — Application Designer, automation scripts, workflows, BIRT reports, and integrations — to support real‑world asset management, maintenance, and work order processes for our clients.

We are open to a broad range of experience, from strong mid‑level developers to senior technical leads. Rather than gate candidates on a single seniority label, our screening is built to surface how deep your hands‑on Maximo experience actually goes — how many integrations you've shipped, how many reports you've built from scratch, how many modules you've configured, and whether you've led architecture or migration decisions. This lets us match the right person to the right depth of work, whichever band that turns out to be.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development & Configuration

  • Customize Maximo screens, fields, tabs, and relationships using Application Designer and Database Configuration to match client asset and work‑order data models.
  • Design and build workflows, escalations, and cron tasks to automate approvals, alerts, and scheduled processes.
  • Develop and maintain BIRT reports covering work order status, inventory levels, PM compliance, and other operational reporting needs.

Integration & Data

  • Build and maintain integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST, and SOAP web services to connect Maximo with external systems (e.g., SAP, ERP, IoT/sensor feeds).
  • Write SQL/PL‑SQL for data extracts, troubleshooting, and migration support against the underlying Maximo database (Oracle or DB2).
  • Support data migration and validation activities during upgrades or new module rollouts.

Support, Maintenance & Collaboration

  • Provide ongoing support and enhancement for existing Maximo instances — troubleshooting performance, configuration, and integration issues.
  • Work with functional stakeholders to translate business requirements (maintenance, inventory, procurement, service requests) into technical Maximo solutions.
  • Document configurations, scripts, and integrations to a standard that supports handover and long‑term maintainability.
  • Where applicable, contribute to MAS (Maximo Application Suite 8/9) migration or upgrade planning from legacy Maximo 7.6.x environments.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Hands‑on, production experience developing and configuring IBM Maximo — this is the core requirement, regardless of total years.
  • Demonstrated experience across at least two of the following: automation scripting, workflow design, BIRT reporting, or MIF/REST/SOAP integrations.
  • Experience working directly with business or functional stakeholders to translate requirements into working Maximo configurations.
  • Exposure to Maximo 7.6.x and/or MAS (Maximo Application Suite 8/9) — either is acceptable; depth in either is valued.

Technical Skills

  • Reporting: BIRT report design and development.
  • Integration: MIF, REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON.
  • Database: SQL / PL‑SQL (Oracle or DB2).
  • Platform awareness: Maximo 7.6.x and/or MAS 8/9 (containerized/cloud); WebSphere knowledge a plus for 7.6.x environments.

KEY SKILLS

  • Ability to turn a functional/business requirement (a maintenance rule, an approval chain, a reporting need) into a clean, maintainable Maximo configuration or script.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging mindset across configuration, scripting, and integration layers.
  • Clear documentation habits — configurations and scripts that the next developer can actually pick up.
  • Comfortable working both independently and alongside functional/business analysts and architects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT MANDATORY)

  • Experience leading or contributing to a Maximo 7.6.x → MAS 8/9 migration.
  • Experience integrating Maximo with SAP or other major ERP/EAM‑adjacent systems.
  • Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes) relevant to MAS.
  • IBM Maximo certifications, or equivalent demonstrated project experience.
