About the Role
We are looking for an Automotive MATLAB Developer with strong hands-on experience in MATLAB/Simulink and Diesel Engine systems.The ideal candidate should have practical experience in engine control, diesel engine modeling, calibration/control logic development, and Model-Based Design. The candidate will work on automotive powertrain applications involving MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and engine control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink models for automotive diesel engine applications.
- Develop control algorithms and software models related to diesel engine and powertrain systems.
- Understand diesel engine requirements and translate them into control logic and Simulink models.
- Work on Model-Based Design (MBD) for engine control applications.
- Develop and modify Stateflow models for engine-control strategies.
- Perform MIL (Model-in-the-Loop) simulation and validation of control algorithms.
- Support SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) validation and software verification activities.
- Analyze simulation results and troubleshoot model/control-logic issues.
- Support code generation and integration of generated code with the target ECU, where applicable.
- Work on engine-related parameters, control strategies, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with engine-control, calibration, embedded software, testing, and system teams.
- Support testing and validation of engine-control functions using simulation and/or target hardware.
- Analyze test results and identify root causes for functional issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, test specifications, and development artifacts.
- Follow automotive software development and configuration-management processes.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience in automotive embedded/software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow – Mandatory.
- Good understanding of diesel engine fundamentals and engine-control concepts.
- Good understanding of control-system concepts and simulation.
- Ability to analyze simulation results and troubleshoot control algorithms.
- Experience working with automotive development teams.
- Hands-on experience in Diesel Engine/Powertrain systems with knowledge of engine control strategies, fuel injection, air-path/boost, EGR, sensors/actuators, and ECU control.
