Job summary

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in India seeks a Materials Manager for the pre-opening phase to oversee procurement, storage and distribution of goods for luxury palace operations.

You will manage supplier negotiations, ensure timely material availability and strict cost control while aligning with brand standards and audit requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Strong negotiation, inventory management and cost-control skills.
• Proficiency in inventory and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities, supplier selection, and price negotiations.
• Maintain approved vendor lists and evaluate supplier performance.
• Oversee receiving, storing, and issuing of materials following FIFO.
• Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and wastage.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and ensure accurate system records.
• Support budgeting and control material costs in coordination with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and brand standards
