Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in India (Tamil Nadu) is seeking a Materials/Inventory Management professional to maintain stock levels and support manufacturing operations on site.

This role requires on-site work five days a week, relocation is available, and visa sponsorship is not offered. A Bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred, with strong skills in inventory and logistics management beneficial for success.

Role Definition

Maintains agreed-upon inventory levels to provide a flow of raw materials and components from the supply chain to the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that the environment of the inventory stock room is in line with requirements for each product.
• Managing staffing, development, and performance management of materials management workers.
• Ensuring proper labor relations.
• Defining and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels.
• Coordinating maintenance and support of inventory management software.

Degree Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
