Job summary

Midas VFX is seeking an experienced Matchmove / Layout Artist for our Mumbai onsite studio. You will create precise camera and object tracking solutions, build and organize layout scenes and prepare shots for downstream departments including Animation, FX, Lighting and Compositing.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical tracking skills with a solid understanding of cinematography, camera movement and scene composition, collaborating with supervisors and producers to meet tight delivery

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional VFX experience in Matchmove, Tracking or Layout.
• Strong knowledge of camera tracking principles, lenses and real-world cinematography.
• Experience with LiDAR, photogrammetry or scene reconstruction is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality camera, object and body tracks from live-action plates.
• Solve lens distortion, rolling shutter and complex camera movement challenges.
• Build and maintain layout scenes using tracked cameras and production assets.
• Prepare scenes and proxy geometry for downstream departments.
• Set up environments and basic scene assembly.
• Ensure continuity and scale consistency across sequences.
• Work closely with Supervisors, CG Leads and Production to meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot difficult tracking and layout issues while maintaining shot quality.

Requirements

• Experience with LiDAR, photogrammetry or scene reconstruction is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently within a production schedule.
• Excellent English for smooth communication with London Supervisors

Bonus Skills

• Previs, Postvis or Techvis experience.
• Basic modelling and scene assembly.
• Python or MEL scripting.
• Experience working on episodic television or feature film VFX.
