Job description

Marketing Engineer – Social Media & Performance Marketing

About Kitab

Kitab brings ancient wisdom into modern life. We turn texts like the Bhagavad Gita and the Puranas into clear, practical guidance for everyday problems: stress, relationships, purpose and decisions. Everything we build serves three pillars: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, Free Yourself.

Kitab is backed by Sunera Group, led by founder Ravi Reddy Kaki, who has built and exited companies before. We're a new product, but not a first-time team.

Why this role exists

Our organic content shows the message resonates. Now we need one person who connects the dots: social campaigns that build a community, paid media that brings the right people into the app, and measurement that shows who stays. We call it a Marketing Engineer because we want someone who builds systems (playbooks, testing, tracking and automation), not someone who only posts or only runs ads.

Reports to: Growth Lead (Growth department)

What you'll own
  • Social media campaigns on Instagram and YouTube (plus LinkedIn where it fits): themes, content calendars, launch moments and community growth
  • Creator and community campaigns: creator collaborations, podcast guests, user-generated content and our WhatsApp community
  • Paid media on Meta and Google: budget split, audiences, creative themes and weekly optimisation
  • The organic-to-paid flywheel: spot posts that win organically and scale them with paid
  • Tracking: social analytics, pixels and SDKs, Conversions API, a mobile measurement partner, Firebase, GA4 and UTMs
  • Results: reach, saves, shares and follower growth; cost per install, activated users, retention and CAC
Frameworks you'll use
  • Hero–Hub–Help for big moments, recurring series and everyday content
  • See–Think–Do–Care to map every campaign to an intent stage
  • Content pillars: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, Free Yourself
  • Creative diagnostics: hook rate, hold rate, saves, shares, CTR and conversion
  • ICE scoring and LTV:CAC to prioritise tests and spend
How AI fits this role
  • Track trends, comments and conversations with AI and turn them into campaign ideas
  • Draft calendars, campaign concepts and creator briefs with Claude, then sharpen them with your judgment
  • Test hooks, captions and creative at speed with our video team using HeyGen and Higgsfield
  • Get the best from Advantage+ and Google's automated campaigns with clean signals and creative variety
  • Personalise messages by life problem, audience and market
  • Automate reporting, comment insight and budget-pacing alerts
  • Prompt engineering: keep a prompt library for on-brand, policy-safe captions, ads, briefs and analysis
What AI-native means here

You use AI every working day, not occasionally. You keep a shared prompt library (brand voice, caption and hook prompts, creator briefs, ad analysis), you can show us the prompts behind your best work, and you've automated at least one repetitive task. In the assignment, we'll ask for your prompts alongside the plan.

Must-haves
  • 3+ years running social media campaigns and paid ads, accountable for growth and results
  • Instagram and YouTube campaigns that grew reach, engagement and community, with numbers to show
  • Hands-on Meta Ads and Google Ads, including app install or conversion campaigns
  • Creator collaborations: finding, briefing and measuring creators
  • Tracking: social analytics, pixels, SDKs, Conversions API, AppsFlyer, Branch or Adjust, Firebase, GA4
  • Strong spreadsheet analysis: engagement, cohorts, CAC and payback
  • Knowledge of Meta and Google policies for wellbeing and religious content
  • Prompt engineering and daily use of AI tools
Tools you must know
  • Paid ads: Meta Ads Manager and Events Manager (incl. Advantage+), Google Ads (App, Search, YouTube)
  • Social: Meta Business Suite, Instagram Insights, YouTube Studio, a scheduler (Buffer, Later or Meta)
  • Tracking: GA4, Firebase, Google Tag Manager, UTMs, AppsFlyer, Branch or Adjust
  • Reporting: advanced Google Sheets or Excel, Looker Studio
  • AI: Claude or ChatGPT, with your own prompt library

Good to know: Apple Search Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, SQL/BigQuery, social listening tools, HeyGen, ElevenLabs, Higgsfield, Zapier, Make or n8n

Nice-to-haves
  • Wellness, meditation, edtech, spiritual or subscription brands
  • LinkedIn and WhatsApp community campaigns
  • Google Ads and Meta certifications
Who you are

Experience gets you the interview. Who you are gets you the role. We look for people who are grounded, curious, accountable, kind, humble and purpose-driven, and whose everyday life reflects what Kitab stands for:

  • Know Yourself: you have a way to reflect, whether journaling, meditation, prayer, long walks or quiet time
  • Grow Yourself: you read books, not just feeds, and keep learning
  • Free Yourself: you love social media as a creator, yet you can put your phone down
  • Conscious action: you wouldn't create content or ads that mislead or harm people
  • Discipline and balance: healthy rhythms of sleep, movement and routine
  • Service: you give back in some way

This isn't about religion, diet, rituals or background. People of every faith and none belong at Kitab.

Your first 90 days
  • Day 30: social channels, past campaigns and tracking audited and fixed; first campaign calendar agreed; first paid tests live
  • Day 60: first integrated campaign (organic, creators and paid) run end to end; weekly creative testing with the social and video teams
  • Day 90: we know which channels bring people who stay; quarterly social and paid plan agreed; reporting automated; playbook documented
Compensation

Competitive, based on your experience and results. We'll discuss it openly in the first conversation.

Hiring process

1. Intro conversation with the Growth Lead

2. Work walkthrough: a social campaign and an ad account you've managed (anonymised is fine)

3. 72‑hour assignment: a 30‑day Kitab campaign covering organic content, one creator collaboration, Meta and Google ads, tracking, KPIs and 5 hooks, with the prompts you used

4. Culture conversation with Ganesh and Kitab leadership
