Job summary

Toki And Takara Llp, Bengaluru-based engineering firm, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead MV switchgear design and provide comprehensive design support for electro-mechanical systems. You will create detailed CAD drawings, review BOMs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in MV switchgear design, hands-on experience with switchgear components, and proficiency in 3D CAD tools.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8+ years in MV Switchgear Mechanical Design with a switchgear manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex electro mechanical systems and components.
• Create and review detailed design drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications using CAD tools.
• Develop technical documentation such as design reports, test procedures, and user manuals.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, regulations, and codes.
• Design LV/MV switchgear and switchboards for customer projects.
• Coordinate with Team Leads/Project Managers on schedules and deliverables.
• Review RFQs, drawings, and specs to prepare accurate quotations.
• Prepare technical and commercial offers, cost estimates, and BOMs.
• Coordinate with sales, customers, consultants, and suppliers for competitive proposals.
• Evaluate project costs and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Provide virtual engineering support to North American plants.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.

• Coordinate with sales teams, customers, consultants, and suppliers to ensure competitive proposals.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8+ years of experience in MV Switchgear Mechanical Design with a switchgear manufacturer.
• Hands‑on experience in various types of Switchgears, Busbars, Breakers, Protective Relays , and MV/LV Panels.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, enclosure design, and Vendor drawing review & technical documentation.
• Practical experience in designing Low-, Medium-, and High-Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards.
• Proficiency in creating detailed engineering drawings, BOM, and specifications.
• Experience designing LV/MV distribution panels, hybrid generators, recloser panels, transformers, enclosures, and bus bars.
• Experience with Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or equivalent products is preferred
• Experience with North American and CanadianStandards (UL/IEEE/NEMA/NEC)
• Proficiency in 3D softwares.
