Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Bengaluru is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, NPI to bridge product development, project management and production. You will transform a new product into a stable production-ready series, define tools and process strategies with PLM and Q, and work with R&D management.

You will apply RF/electronic fundamentals, perform measurements with a network analyser, and lead root cause analyses while coordinating with multiple departments to ensure high-quality manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with RF technology of MR local coils.
  • Excellent statistical analysis.
  • Experience in international projects with technical content.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between product development, project management and production facility to translate new product into production-ready series.
  • Plan process, equipment and documents for production activities; validate processes.
  • Troubleshoot electronic/RF circuits; perform root cause analyses and implement solutions.
  • Develop concepts to ensure quality, reliability and manufacturability in production.
  • Train and instruct employees in testing tasks and assist with problematic cases.
  • Oversee production testing of MR Local coils and ensure quality standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on capability assessments and process improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for new products or changes to current products.
  • Support Global R&D to scale processes across BLR and global supply chains.

Job description

  • As a Manufacturing Engineer, NPI, you will be the interface between product development, project management and the production facility and will be responsible for transforming a new product into a stable production-ready series product. The Process Engineer is responsible for the definition of the tools and process strategy together with PLM and Q, stakeholders and the R&D management team.
  • You have professional experience in electrical test planning, ideally gained in a medical technology environment
  • The candidate should have a strong foundation in RF and electronics fundamentals, including resonance, impedance matching, and S-parameters, along with hands-on experience in using a network analyser (VNA) for measurement and basic tuning, and the ability to troubleshoot electronic/RF circuits effectively.
  • Experience and knowledge of automation, digitalization and project management would be advantageous.
  • If technical problems occur, you will be responsible for root cause analysis and for developing solutions in collaboration with the department units affected
  • You will draw up concepts to achieve the required quality standards, avoid faults, and ensure technical reliability in collaboration with the relevant department units, and you will implement these in the production process
  • You will train and instruct employees in testing tasks and support them with problematic cases
  • You will be responsible for production testing of MR Local coils in the, ensuring that the relevant stringent quality standards are met
  • Plan the process, equipment and documents required (DMR) for production activities of healthcare assemblies. Validation of process of the product.
  • Achieving the most cost-effective manufacturing solution (Design to Cost) and ensuring the highest quality for the product and its manufacturing processes (Design to Manufacturing)
  • Support in supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
  • Assist with first off sample approvals of the parts from vendor.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements
  • Working with Global Business Line R&D to develop and support the process at BLR/ with Local to Global supply of parts / commodities leveraging across manufacturing locations.
  • Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.

Develop strong, ethical relationships with suppliers with good business practices

Desired Qualification & Experience
  • You have successfully completed a university degree with a technical background (electrical/electronic engineering, etc.) with 5+ years in Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Experience of process and engineering principles of RF technology of MR local coils, Healthcare equipment and associated testing setups and troubleshooting is desired
  • Excellent statistical analysis
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Effective communication
  • You already have experience in dealing with international projects with technical content.
