Assembly and Testing In Charge – Role Overview

This role oversees daily assembly and testing operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery of projects, while managing personnel, processes, and quality compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of assembly and testing assigned projects.
• Plan and direct assembly and testing activities.
• Identify and communicate material shortages to stakeholders to meet project timelines.
• Monitor and optimize assembly and testing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure on‑time delivery of completed projects to meet customer deadlines (CDD).
• Manage manpower levels and develop employee competencies through training and development programs.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize operational costs and overall efficiency.
• Foster a highly motivated workforce through training programs, motivational events, and a positive work environment.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and safety audits.
• Identify and mitigate assembly defects.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Communicate part‑level rejections to buyers/vendors prior to assembly.
• Validate final assembly with mould checks and prepare dimensional reports for Quality Control (QC).
• Review fan part aesthetics in coordination with QC.
• Arrange necessary equipment in advance and support QC in resolving performance deviations during mould prep and laying.
• Prepare assembly micro‑plans based on expected material receipt dates.
• Highlight material issues and record them in COPQ.
• Optimize operational costs by minimizing manufacturing costs (labour, welding, power).
• Maintain records of production consumables.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) for assembly and Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) to align with vehicle loading plans.
• Monitor and record assembled parts dispatch to customers.
• Prepare detailed monthly performance reports and present to Head of Department.
• Lead 5S and Kaizen activities across assembly and testing.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–11 years of experience, including 4–5 years in FRP processes.
• Strong process improvement and communication skills.
• Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reviewing control charts.
• Proficiency in problem‑solving methods such as Daily Work Management (DWM) and Team Building (TBT) sessions.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and follow up to achieve assembly plans.
• Knowledge of safety and quality audit procedures.
