Job summary

THERMAX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Pune facility. You will independently manage the complete assembly, testing, and dispatch of Green Hydrogen equipment and skids, ensuring safety, quality, and timely production while coordinating with Design, SCM, Quality, Planning, and Project teams.

You will drive process improvements, manage shop-floor activities, and ensure adherence to ISO or similar quality audits, with hands-on involvement in fabrication, welding, and testing.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in production/manufacturing role.
• Experience in skid assembly or equipment manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assembly, testing, and dispatch of Green Hydrogen equipment and skids.
• Ensure quality standards per QAP, QC requirements, and process docs.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials, components, and consumables; coordinate maintenance.

1. Job Details

2. Job Profile

A. Key Objective

To independently manage the complete assembly, testing, and dispatch of Green Hydrogen equipment and skids at Thermaxs in-house manufacturing facility by ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely production while coordinating effectively with Design, SCM, Quality, Planning, and Project teams.

B. Major Deliverables

• Ensure the required quality standards are achieved for products manufactured at the Thermax facility and support all testing activities.
• Ensure manufacturing is carried out in accordance with approved QAP, QC requirements, and process sequence documents.
• Ensure seamless manufacturing operations by maintaining adequate raw material, bought-out components, consumables inventory, and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with ISO and other applicable quality audits.
• Drive process improvement through idea generation and adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quick turnaround of product development and manufacturing activities.
• Monitor manufacturing processes that impact product quality and drive appropriate improvement actions.
• Coordinate with Design, SCM, Quality, Planning, and Project teams to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure timely completion.
• Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to planned manufacturing schedules.
• Support equipment testing, inspection, and dispatch activities as per project requirements.

3. Essential Attributes

• Strong knowledge of skid assembly and equipment manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience in fabrication, piping, welding, mechanical assembly, and equipment testing.
• Good understanding of pressure vessels, piping systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of welding procedures, NDT, hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and quality management systems.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle / SAP, production planning, and inventory management.
• Strong problem‑solving, leadership, coordination, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple production activities simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of shop‑floor operations and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lead technicians, contract manpower, and shop‑floor teams effectively.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery.

Minimum Relevant Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant Production / Manufacturing role.

5. Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering Mandatory

6. Desired Type of Experience

• 58 years of experience in equipment manufacturing or skid assembly.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in production / shop‑floor management.
• Experience in one or more of the following industries will be preferred:
  • Green Hydrogen
  • Oil & Gas
  • Process Equipment
  • EPC
  • Pressure Vessel Manufacturing
  • Skid Manufacturing
• Experience in leading technicians and contractor manpower.
• Hands‑on experience in equipment assembly, fabrication, piping, welding, testing, and inspection.
• Exposure to FAT, customer inspections, and dispatch planning will be preferred.
• Experience in coordinating with cross‑functional teams including Design, SCM, Quality, Planning, and Projects.
• Exposure to process improvement, manufacturing optimization, and advanced manufacturing technologies will be an added advantage.
