Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Manual Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating web and mobile applications to ensure they meet technical specifications, functional requirements, and high-quality standards. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to catch issues early in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Test Design & Execution: Analyze software requirement specifications (SRS) and user stories to create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Functional & Regression Testing: Perform manual functional, sanity, integration, smoke, and regression testing across web and mobile platforms.
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, document, track, and retest bugs using defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Provide detailed steps to reproduce issues along with screenshots or logs.
• API & Database Validation: Perform basic API validation using tools like Postman and write simple SQL queries to check data integrity.
• Cross-Browser & Device Testing: Verify application compatibility across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and devices (iOS/Android).
• Collaboration: Participate in Agile/Scrum rituals, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and grooming sessions.

QA Fundamentals

Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, test plan creation, bug triage, and black-box testing techniques.

Tools Exposure

Familiarity with test/defect management tools (Jira, Zephyr, or Trello).

Technical Skills

Basic knowledge of SQL, web technologies (HTML/CSS basics), and API testing tools (Postman).

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, effective written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
