Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in manual software testing.

Job Summary

We are looking for Software Manual QA Test Engineers to support our client's technology projects in India. The role requires someone who is comfortable understanding business requirements, preparing test scenarios and carrying out thorough manual testing across different stages of the application lifecycle.

The selected resource will work closely with developers, business analysts and project stakeholders to identify issues, verify fixes and help ensure that applications meet the expected quality and functional standards.

This is a remote opportunity. Depending on project needs and candidate availability, the engagement may be on a full-time, part-time or contractual basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business and functional requirements before testing begins.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios and test plans.
• Carry out functional, integration, system, regression, smoke and sanity testing.
• Identify, document and track defects using the relevant defect management tools.
• Work with developers, business analysts and project managers to clarify issues and support resolution.
• Verify bug fixes and perform retesting where required.
• Check whether applications meet the agreed quality standards and expected user requirements.
• Prepare test execution reports and share testing progress with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in requirement and project discussions and provide feedback from a quality and testing perspective.
• Maintain clear test documentation and defect records throughout the testing cycle.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Hands-on experience with manual testing methods and techniques.
• Skilled in creation and execution of test cases and test scenarios.
• Working knowledge of defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or Bugzilla.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum ways of working.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document issues and test results in a structured manner.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a wider project team.

AI Experience

Experience using AI-assisted tools for test documentation, test case preparation, analysis or day-to-day productivity may be an advantage.

Managerial Experience

Not Mandatory. This is primarily an individual contributor role and previous team-handling experience is not required. The candidate should be able to coordinate effectively with developers, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders.

Operational Experience

• Experience in executing manual testing activities across the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to understand requirements and translate them into practical test scenarios.
• Experience in defect reporting, tracking and retesting.
• Exposure to testing web, mobile or desktop applications will be useful.
• Ability to manage assigned testing activities and meet agreed timelines.
• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum-based project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates with relevant practical experience in software testing may also be considered.
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing will be an advantage.

Certifications

ISTQB certification or other relevant software testing certifications will be an advantage, but are not mandatory.
