Role Description

The Managing Editorial Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida. This role supports the editorial team in managing book projects from manuscript to final production, ensuring schedules, workflows, and quality standards are consistently met. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with editors, authors, designers, and production staff; tracking deadlines; preparing and maintaining style sheets and metadata; and organizing files and documentation for multiple titles. The Managing Editorial Assistant will assist with copyediting and proofreading tasks, review page proofs for accuracy and consistency, and help implement editorial guidelines across imprints. The role also involves handling routine administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, updating project management tools, and contributing to process improvements that enhance editorial efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Writing and Editorial skills, with the ability to support the development and refinement of manuscripts and project materials.
  • Candidates should possess solid Text Editing and Proofreading skills, with attention to detail, grammar, consistency, and adherence to house style.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Publishing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in book publishing, media, or content production, especially in editorial or managing editorial roles, is highly beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Comfort with digital tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, project management software, and publishing workflows.
  • Interest in pop culture, entertainment, and illustrated or gift books is an advantage.
