Job Title: Manager - WCR Insights and Analysis
- The MI Reporting Job family involves the design, development and reporting of management information on a timely basis, which helps the business managers of the Global functions drive informed decisions. The job family requires the incumbent to plan & execute the assigned projects/ analysis per agreed timelines and with high levels of accuracy & quality. MI Reporting job family requires access to various databases and tracking the performance of business metrics, trend analysis etc. and transforming the information into meaningful dashboards and or reports for the consumption of senior management.
In this role, you will:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- The role is to support the Senior MI and Regulatory Reporting Manager specifically in the analysis and delivery of suite of Large Exposure Reporting for HCIB (NRFB UK and HBCE).
- The role will include supporting the project/BAU resources, including requirements setting and UAT.
- Drive process efficiency through automation and streamlining initiatives to improve turn-around time of report delivery.
- Regulatory reports - generation and substantiation of Regulatory reports, manage follow‑up actions for regulatory requirements and to meet and reflect changes in Global regulatory requirements.
- MI Pack Preparation: collating data from various Risk systems; prepare MI packs and share it across with wider Stakeholders, including the provision of regular risk data.
- Supporting the generation of ad hoc reports in addition to regular reports.
- Assist the line manager in ensuring uninterrupted business operations through adequate BCP.
- Assist the line manager in delivering flagship projects.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations including HSBC Global Standards and taking necessary steps to address any audit findings.
Leadership and Teamwork
- Contribute to the preparation of a variety of reports aimed at ensuring timely and effective delivery of Wholesale Credit Information.
- Design and implement processes for validating and substantiation of data included in the reports produced.
- Gather data, analyze, and create PowerPoint presentations for the purposes of senior executive forums.
- Support the preparation of information, reports, and manage follow‑up actions for regulatory and other stakeholder risk oversight meetings including the provision of regular risk data.
- Work effectively with others across the WCR function to ensure the production of reports is insightful, professional and fit for purpose.
- Provide analysis and report to a number of senior internal and external stakeholders, both regular and ad hoc.
- Build on data available in the Risk Reporting systems and non‑risk systems as appropriate to develop MI that supports improved risk management capabilities.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Follow a robust production line of project development, documentation and effective offshoring where appropriate.
- Comprehend the task at hand and solve the business problem by applying simple & realistic solutions and should be able to slice and dice the data to understand trends, nuances, etc. and provide outputs high in analytical content.
- To complete assigned projects and help the business partners with additional analysis when required.
- To fully understand and map Data Flows (System of records to Reports) for core data elements and perform data quality checks.
- Maintain sound documentation processes, especially for repetitive tasks. Documents must capture all aspects of the process including file dependencies, SLA, stakeholders, output location, code location and step‑by‑step sequence to be followed. Follow standard nomenclature and efficient file / folder management.

Functional Knowledge
- Graduate/Post-Graduate in Engineering/Finance/Economics/Statistics or related field
- Professional experience of 5+ years in a financial services or consulting firm
- Prior experience in dealing with virtual business partners across the globe
- Good communication skills (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with positive attitude are essential.
- Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines as required.
- Ability to deal in a multi-stakeholder relationship in a complex environment
- Willing to work along with colleagues in other areas/time zones.
Others
- Knowledge of HSBC Group, its operations, systems, products, and risk systems preferable
- Good analytical skills
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency and intermediate proficiency on other MS office suite applications.
- Experience working with MI visualization tools such as Tableau / Qlik sense/Business Objects is good to have
- Knowledge of SQL/ SAS/Python/Alteryx/R is good to have.
