Job summary

Cucumber Consultants is seeking an Assurance Manager to join its Audit practice at Mumbai and Hyderabad offices. The role targets a CA or CPA with hands-on US audit and assurance experience in financial services, to lead multiple engagements in a growth-focused environment.

US audit is non-negotiable and CA/CPA credentials are mandatory; expect responsibilities spanning planning, execution, client management, and staff supervision across engagements.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification mandatory; applications without this credential will not be considered.
• 5+ years of progressive audit and assurance experience with direct exposure to US audit standards and US GAAP reporting frameworks.
• Experience with US-based or US-reporting financial services clients — this is a hard requirement.
• Experience with financial services clients including broker dealers, private equity and venture capital funds, hedge funds, and funds of funds
• 1+ year of supervisory experience managing audit staff across live engagements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to plan audit objectives and determine audit strategy across multiple engagements.
• Lead multiple audit engagements simultaneously, managing competing priorities and timelines.
• Review, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to US GAAP and US auditing standards.
• Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively.
• Understand and manage firm risk across audits and proposals.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff during engagements.
• Assess performance of staff for engagement evaluations.

About the Role

A large global accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Assurance Manager to join its Audit practice across its Mumbai and Hyderabad offices. The role is suited to a qualified CA or CPA with hands-on US audit and assurance experience in financial services, looking to lead multiple engagements in a structured, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications All Mandatory

• Demonstrated experience conducting or leading audits for US-based or US-reporting financial services clients — this is a hard requirement
• Experience with financial services clients including broker dealers, private equity and venture capital funds, hedge funds, and funds of funds
• 1+ year of supervisory experience managing audit staff across live engagements

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience at a Big 4 or large international accounting firm conducting US audits
• Familiarity with PCAOB standards and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience managing client relationships independently at Manager level
