Job summary

Hetero in India seeks a skilled process engineer to provide technical support for API manufacturing, troubleshoot complex reactions, and drive optimization to enhance yield, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate with R&D, QA, QC, and Production to resolve manufacturing challenges and support technology transfer to commercial manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to API manufacturing operations and resolve process-related issues.
• Troubleshoot complex chemical processes, reaction parameters, yield variations and batch-cycle-time deviations.
• Drive process optimization initiatives to improve yield, productivity, quality and cost efficiency.
• Support technology transfer activities from R&D to commercial manufacturing.
• Coordinate process scale-up, process development and commercialization of new API products.
• Review manufacturing processes, batch records, process parameters and production data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Investigate process deviations, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions in coordination with QA and Production.
• Support process validation, continued process verification and process-performance improvement activities.
• Develop and review process-related documents, including technology transfer protocols, reports, process descriptions and technical reports.
• Work closely with R&D, Production, QA, QC and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Evaluate critical process parameters and critical quality attributes to ensure consistent product quality.
• Support process safety assessments, including reaction hazards, thermal risks and process-related safety requirements.
• Participate in customer, internal and regulatory audits and provide technical responses related to manufacturing processes.
• Identify opportunities for solvent recovery, waste reduction, cycle-time reduction and manufacturing-cost optimization.
• Support scale-up studies, process improvements and implementation of approved process changes.
• Prepare technical reports, process-performance summaries and management presentations.
• Guide and mentor technical services team members and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
