Role Overview
As the Manager – Advanced Technology, you will lead the Residential Engineering Compressor Technology team, cultivating an inclusive and high‑performing environment that encourages innovation, professional growth, critical thinking, and shared leadership. This highly technical leadership role requires a strong passion for deep technology and engineering excellence. You will collaborate closely with global cross‑functional teams to identify, evaluate, and develop emerging technologies that support future product and business needs, driving technologies from concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Drive execution of engineering and technology objectives by translating project goals into clear priorities, deliverables, and actionable plans that ensure on‑time, high‑quality results.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, establishing clear expectations, promoting accountability, and ensuring effective execution against business and project commitments.
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and targeted skill development, enabling engineers to grow their technical expertise and deliver increasingly complex solutions.
- Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and best practices to enhance productivity, quality, consistency, and execution efficiency.
- Track and communicate progress against project milestones, technical objectives, and team goals, proactively identifying risks and driving timely resolution of issues.
- Provide technical guidance to support the development and maturation of advanced compressor and HVACR technologies, helping teams solve complex engineering challenges.
- Drive technology development activities through structured learning cycles, testing, and validation, ensuring sound technical decisions and data‑driven outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, Technical Services, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative and manufacturable solutions that meet customer and business needs.
- Promote employee engagement and team effectiveness by creating an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performance work environment where individuals are motivated to achieve results.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with 15–20 years of progressive experience in rotating machinery, compressor technology, or advanced product development.
- Demonstrated technical depth in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, structural mechanics, design methodologies, and model‑based engineering, with the ability to drive engineering decisions using analytical, simulation, and data‑driven approaches.
- Proven track record of leading deep‑tech engineering teams in the development of innovative technologies, products, platforms, or engineering solutions from concept through commercialization.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and systems‑thinking capabilities, with experience applying advanced engineering tools such as CAE, CFD, FEA, optimization methods, digital engineering, and model‑based product development.
- Ability to establish and continuously improve engineering processes, design standards, technical governance, and knowledge management practices to ensure consistency, quality, scalability, and long‑term organizational success.
- Demonstrated success in building technical capability through coaching, mentoring, and development of engineering talent, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, learning, and technical excellence.
- Experience leading technology roadmaps, technical risk management, and strategic engineering initiatives aligned with business objectives and future product needs.

This role is based onsite, with remote work considered on an ad hoc basis.
