Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
- 10+ years in enterprise storage, backup/data protection, or infrastructure engineering.
- 3+ years leading storage/backup infrastructure teams.
- Strong depth in Dell EMC, Pure Storage, NetApp, Cisco storage networking and Commvault/NetWorker.

We are looking for a Manager - Storage and Backup to lead enterprise storage, backup, restore, and data protection services within Infrastructure Lifecycle.
The role owns reliable, secure, and scalable services across Dell EMC PowerMax, Unity, PowerScale, and Data Domain; Pure Storage; NetApp; Cisco storage networking; Commvault; and NetWorker. The Manager leads engineers responsible for operations, capacity, performance, recovery readiness, and platform lifecycle management.
This role requires a hands‑on, execution-oriented manager who can lead technical operations, major incidents, recovery issues, risk management, and team development.
The role is focused on availability, performance, recoverability, capacity, lifecycle, and continuous improvement across enterprise storage and backup platforms.
- Own service outcomes for enterprise storage, backup, restore, and data protection.
- Set priorities, service objectives, controls, and operating plans aligned with Infrastructure Lifecycle.
- Maintain visibility into health, incidents, risks, capacity, performance, backup success, and restore readiness.
- Lead resolution of complex storage, backup, and recovery issues as the senior escalation point.
- Maintain standards, runbooks, recovery procedures, and support models.
- Lead and develop storage and backup engineers and technical leads.
- Set goals, priorities, support expectations, and development plans.
- Drive disciplined incident, problem, change, maintenance, and release practices.
- Partner with Infrastructure Lifecycle and adjacent ISM teams on availability, resilience, capacity, and service priorities.
- Lead engineering and operations for Dell EMC PowerMax, Unity, PowerScale, and Data Domain; Pure Storage; NetApp; and Cisco storage networking.
- Oversee storage provisioning, SAN connectivity and zoning, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Manage firmware and software lifecycle, patching, refresh, migration, and end‑of‑support planning.
- Standardize engineering practices and improve platform utilization and supportability.
- Own Commvault and NetWorker operations, including policy, scheduling, monitoring, failure resolution, and restores.
- Ensure backup coverage, retention, validation, and recovery procedures meet service requirements.
- Conduct restore and recovery testing and close gaps against agreed recovery objectives.
- Manage Data Domain capacity, replication, retention, and lifecycle with disaster recovery and application stakeholders.
- Drive access controls, hardening, patching, vulnerability response, audit, and compliance practices.
- Maintain recovery readiness and support disaster recovery and business continuity exercises, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manage vendor advisories, control gaps, and resilience risks affecting protected data and recovery services.
- Forecast demand using performance, capacity, utilization, and trend data.
- Automate, simplify, and standardize operations to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Track availability, capacity, backup success, restore performance, and incident trends to drive continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree or certifications preferred
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise storage, backup / data protection, or infrastructure engineering
- 3+ years of experience leading storage, backup, infrastructure, or technical engineering teams
- Strong technical depth in Dell EMC PowerMax, Unity, PowerScale, and Data Domain; Pure Storage; NetApp; and Cisco storage networking
- Strong Commvault and NetWorker experience across policy management, monitoring, troubleshooting, restore, and recovery
- Experience with storage provisioning, SAN connectivity, performance, capacity, replication / snapshots, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Experience in mission‑critical environments using disciplined incident, problem, change, disaster recovery, audit, and compliance practices
- Ability to lead discussions on architecture, performance, capacity, resilience, recoverability, root‑cause analysis, and platform trade‑offs
- Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) or comparable global delivery model
- Relevant vendor certifications or advanced training across Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, Cisco, Commvault, or related platforms
- Experience automating storage or backup operations through scripting, orchestration, or infrastructure tooling
- Experience leading platform refresh, migration, consolidation, or modernization initiatives
- A hands‑on, execution-driven manager who operates comfortably at technical and operational levels
- Strong people leadership and coaching skills that build technical depth, accountability, and ownership
- Ability to dive into complex storage, backup, and recovery issues and drive resolution with urgency and discipline
- Strong service management mindset focused on availability, recoverability, change control, and risk
