Job summary

Infor is seeking a Manager, Software Development in Hyderabad to lead a team of engineers delivering against the roadmap. The role blends people management with hands-on technical involvement, including code reviews, prototyping, and direct unblocking when needed.

The manager will guide sprint- and release-level delivery, make architectural trade-offs with the Software Architect, and ensure AI governance capabilities meet quality standards before release.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a software engineering team, including hiring, performance coaching, and career development.
• Hands-on technical involvement with code reviews and direct contribution when needed.
• Strong engineering background in Python/C# based services and capacity to review full‑stack work (backend + Angular).
• Working familiarity with PostgreSQL and cloud services (AWS).
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling in daily development or reviews ( Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, etc.).
• Understanding of AI governance concepts, explainability, observability, and guardrails.

We are seeking a Manager, Software Development to lead a team of engineers delivering against the roadmap for their initiative. This is a working leadership role that requires hands‑on technical involvement alongside people management, delivery quality, and day‑to‑day technical judgment calls.

The Manager will lead Senior Engineers, Software Engineers, and where applicable QA Associates, while staying close to technical execution through code reviews, design reviews, prototyping, pairing, and direct unblocking when the team needs it.

Architecture‑level and cross‑cutting platform decisions are escalated to the Software Architect, while the Manager owns sprint‑level and release‑level delivery quality for the initiative.

A Typical Day In The Life Includes

• Manage and grow a team of Senior Engineers, Software Engineers, and where applicable QA Associates, including hiring, performance management, feedback, and career development
• Stay hands‑on by personally reviewing code and designs, and directly contributing through prototyping, unblocking, or pairing when needed
• Own sprint‑level and release‑level delivery for the initiative’s roadmap items, ensuring predictable execution and quality outcomes
• Make technical trade‑off calls within the architecture set by the Software Architect and elevate cross‑cutting or platform‑level decisions appropriately
• Ensure the team’s work on AI Governance capabilities across explain, observe, and prevent areas, or broader platform features, meets the engineering and quality bar before release
• Partner with the Scrum Master on team process, sprint execution, and delivery visibility
• Partner with the Business Analyst on requirements clarity, scope alignment, and timely resolution of ambiguity or delivery risks

Basic Qualifications

• Prior people‑management experience for a software engineering team, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development
• Hands‑on technical involvement, with the expectation to personally review and, where needed, write code; this is not a management‑only position
• Strong engineering background in Python/C# based services and comfortable evaluating full‑stack work across backend and Angular
• Working familiarity with PostgreSQL, with Python or C#
• Hands‑on experience using an AI coding tool in daily development or review work, such as Claude Code, AWS Kiro, OpenAI Codex, or a comparable AI‑assisted coding tool
• Working familiarity with AWS services, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, and EKS, and the Anthropic Claude API/MCP sufficient to review technical designs
• Demonstrable exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, or a comparable agentic framework
• Baseline AI literacy, including understanding how AI works, where it can go wrong, where it is useful, and how to direct it effectively
• Ability to evaluate AI‑generated outputs before relying on them and use AI‑assisted tools responsibly within team standards and review processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing distributed onshore/offshore engineering teams
• Background in a regulated or governance‑sensitive product domain
• Experience leading teams delivering AI Governance, explainability, observability, guardrails, or responsible AI platform capabilities
• Experience reviewing architecture trade‑offs, mentoring senior engineers, and partnering effectively with architects, product owners, business analysts, and Scrum Masters
