Job summary

Evonik Speciality Silica India Pvt. Ltd., Jhagadia, Gujarat, seeks a Manager/Senior Manager - Project Engineering to lead chemical plant construction projects with moderate investment and complexity.

You will bridge technical design and management, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery and high quality across subsystems. The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years in the chemical industry, with hands-on planning, execution and commissioning of greenfield projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant chemical industry experience.
• Experience in greenfield project planning, execution and commissioning.
• Willingness to relocate and travel between Thane and Jhagadia.

Responsibilities

• Situational analysis of production processes and evaluation of economical solutions for subsystems.
• Coordinate sub-projects and small projects with cost and schedule planning; liaise with third parties and internal teams.
• Prepare and present process engineering solutions and know-how packages for the project manager.
• Ensure all work complies with industry regulations, safety standards and quality controls.

They bridge the gap between technical design and management, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.Key Responsibilities :Situational analysis of production processes as well as preparation for and evaluation of economical solutions/concepts for subsystems on the basis of the given framework conditions, as well as the compilation and presentation of process engineering solutions and know-how packages for the responsible project manager.Coordination and integration of assigned areas of responsibility, sub-projects and small projects with consideration for costs and schedule planning, and cooperation between third-party companies and internal departments.Regular reporting to customers in consultation with the project manager about project progress and customer care on-site at the plant.Project Planning: Define project scope, develop detailed timelines, estimate costs, and allocate resources.Technical Oversight: Review engineering designs, write technical documents, and troubleshoot complex engineering problems during execution.Team Coordination: Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors, ensuring clear communication across all teams.Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work adheres to industry regulations, building codes, and safety standards.Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and track project performance against set goals and budgets.Education & Experience required :Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the chemical industry, including significant exposure to the planning, execution, and commissioning of greenfield projects.Mobility Requirement: Candidate should be flexible and comfortable with relocation, as well as frequent travel between Thane and Jhagadia , as required for project execution and business needs.Your ApplicationTo ensure that your application is proceeded as quickly as possible and to protect the environment, please apply online via our careers portal .
