The role requires 7+ years in the power sector with expertise in tariff and regulatory matters, along with strong analytical and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with MBA/PGDM/PGDBM (Finance).
• 7+ years of experience in tariff and regulatory matters in power sector.
• Base location in Jabalpur with willingness to travel for opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and filing of conventional and/or non-conventional generation tariff petitions (MYT, True-up, ARR).
• Assist in Fixed-cum-Depreciation register as per regulatory framework.
• Support analysis of tariff regulations, policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare and review regulatory documents, filings and submissions.
• Assist in data analysis and financial modelling for tariff determination.
• Perform precedence analysis of judgments by SERC/APTEL/Supreme Court.
• Assist in defending review petitions/appeals.
• Coordinate with utilities, regulators and internal teams for data collection and compliance.
• Assist in drafting replies to stakeholder queries and MIS submissions.

A. About the Role:

We are seeking a professional to support regulatory and tariff-related activities in the power sector, including advisory, policy analysis, and compliance support. The role involves assisting in the preparation of regulatory submissions, analyzing frameworks and policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver tariff and regulatory assignments effectively.

B. Detailed expectations from the role:

• Assist in preparation and filing of conventional and/or non-conventional generation tariff petitions (MYT, True-up, ARR, etc.) before regulatory commissions.


• Assistance in preparation of Fixed-cum-Depreciation register as per regulatory framework


• Support analysis of tariff regulations, policies, and regulatory frameworks.


• Prepare and review regulatory documents, filings, and submissions.


• Assist in data analysis and financial modelling for tariff determination.


• Precedence analysis of judgement passed by SERC/APTEL/Supreme Court


• Assist in defending of review petition/appeal


• Coordinate with utilities, regulators, and internal teams for data collection and compliance requirements.


• Assist in drafting replies to queries raised by stakeholders


• Assistance in preparation and submission of quarterly MIS as per the regulatory framework for power generating station

C. Required skill set

• Detailed understanding of power sector regulations and tariff principles.


• Basic understanding of conventional and/or non-conventional generation technologies


• Familiarity with SERC/CERC regulatory processes.


• Knowledge of drafting tariff petition/review petition/true-up petition and reviewing of Tariff Order


• Knowledge of financial analysis and tariff modelling concepts.


• Strong analytical and documentation skills.


• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

D. Education and Experience

• Engineering Graduate with MBA/ PGDM/ PGDBM (with Finance specialization) from a recognized university/ institute.


• Over 7 years of experience in the power sector including expertise in tariff and regulatory matters with any Central/ State Govt. Power Generating Utility or SERC/ CERC.

E. Location

• Base location shall be Jabalpur. However, the role would require the applicant to undertake travel for pursuing various opportunities.
