Job summary

ITC in Bengaluru is seeking a Regulatory Professional to review licenses, registrations, and product approvals, and to make precise recommendations based on analysis.

The role leverages knowledge of Food Safety standards and statutes to align ITC's product strategy with compliance. You will conduct plant audits and prepare risk-based reports.

Responsibilities include developing regulatory requirements for materials and finished products, and reviewing labels and artwork for adherence to rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in Food Regulatory is mandatory.

Job description

Role

• Reviews applications for licenses, registrations or permits, Product Approvals, and makes specific recommendations for accepting or rejecting claims based on analysis and interpretation.
• Leverages knowledge of guidelines, statutes and rules pertaining to Food Safety and juxtaposes the same against ITCs product strategy to prepare points of view in the matter.
• Conducts audits across plants to ensure compliance with Food Safety related statutes and recommends corrective actions wherever required.
• Conducts thorough investigation and analysis of current processes and recipes to ensure that there are no violations of statutes. Prepares reports and gives justifications in this area wherever required to support risk mitigations.
• Develops regulatory requirements for raw materials, additives and finished product appropriately in line with applicable Act, Rules and Regulations.
• Reviews the formulation and labels/Artwork against the applicable Act, Rules and Regulations.

Job-related Skills

• Knowledge of the Food Safety Standards Act(s) or Rules and Regulations that regulate the assigned field.
• Knowledge of administrative hearings procedures (e.g. adjudication, Penalties in case of the violation of the Laws).
• Knowledge of investigation and inspection techniques in case of prosecutions.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and constitution of legal evidence as per the FSS Act and Rules.
• Ability to evaluate, interprets, and/or apply laws, rules, and regulations, to the work.
• Ability to draft legislation, rules, policy statements, and procedures applicable to the regulated field.
• Ability to comment on the draft legislation and CODEX Documentation with appropriate scientific justification and facts.
• Experience in Food Regulatory is mandatory.
