Job summary

Jagran New Media is seeking an English Content Quality Checker (Editorial) to ensure content meets editorial and search quality standards before publication. You will verify accuracy, tone, and reader experience while aligning with Google's guidelines and E-E-A-T principles.

Collaborate with writers and editors to ensure consistency across content, stay updated on algorithm changes, and apply CMS-driven workflows to publish high-quality material for a broad audience in India.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in editorial quality assurance or content standards roles (preferably in digital/online media).
• Strong command over the English language, with the ability to shape content for tone, flow, and readability.
• Solid understanding of Google's content and search quality guidelines and how they influence content performance.
• Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and search-friendly content practices.
• Familiarity with editorial style frameworks and the ability to maintain consistency across a wide content style.
• Sharp eye for detail, with the ability to identify quality gaps quickly.

Responsibilities

• Review editorial content end-to-end and refine it for clarity, tone, and reader experience.
• Evaluate content against Google's helpful content and search quality guidelines (including E-E-A-T principles).
• Assess articles for structure, originality, and topical depth to meet current search quality benchmarks.

• Identify and correct content integrity issues: duplication, inconsistency, factual gaps, or policy-non-compliant elements.
• Partner with writers and editors to provide clear direction to bring content up to publishing standards.
• Track Google's content and algorithm updates regularly and translate them into practical editorial guidance.

About the Role

Jagran New Media is looking for a detail-oriented English Content Quality Checker (QC) to uphold the editorial and search quality standards of every piece of content before it goes live. The ideal candidate will ensure content is accurate, reader-friendly, and fully aligned with Google's evolving content quality guidelines, while helping the editorial team deliver a consistent, trustworthy experience to readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Review editorial content end-to-end and refine it for clarity, tone, and reader experience, in line with B2C (consumer-first) writing standards: simple, engaging and easy for a general audience to consume.
• Evaluate content against Google's helpful content and search quality guidelines (including E-E-A-T principles: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness).
• Assess articles for structure, originality, and topical depth to ensure they meet current search quality benchmarks.
• Apply discoverability best practices to help content surface well and perform on Google.
• Maintain and enforce the organization's defined editorial style and tone framework across all content.
• Identify and correct content integrity issues: duplication, inconsistency, factual gaps, or policy-non-compliant elements before publishing.
• Partner with writers and editors to provide clear direction to bring content up to publishing standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with a digital news/media organization.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
