Job summary

Apollo Tyres Ltd in Chennai is seeking a Manager - QA (Lab) to lead testing and release of incoming raw materials and in-process materials, ensuring compliance with standards and timely release to production.

Responsibilities include managing AMC for lab testing equipment, calibration, MSA studies, and training the team while maintaining 5S and promoting TQM and OHS adherence.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in QA/Lab environments.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in relevant science or engineering.
• Knowledge of rubber materials, vulcanizing and MSA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure testing and releasing of incoming raw materials and in-process materials testing as per standards.
• Manage AMC for testing equipment and maintenance of its breakdowns.
• Organise for safe working environment in laboratory.
• Ensure internal calibration of lab equipment.

Reports to (Position): Head - QA

Department/Function: Quality Assurance

Purpose of the Job: Responsible for ensuring testing and releasing of incoming raw materials and in-process materials and release to production. Manage testing equipment's AMC and maintenance, manage calibration of lab equipment's and implementation of MSA for lab equipment's, develop/maintain standard test methods, and manage laboratory team members.
