Job Description
QA Engineering Manager with 14+ years is responsible for productivity and delivery of web‑based development programs for assigned products. He or she hires, develops, and coaches associates on an ongoing basis, serving as the Netsmart technical leader on multiple significant Netsmart modules or products and recognized as a technology and solution visionary within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategize and set business operational objectives, business requirements, product roadmaps, and related technical specifications. Oversee completion of department goals, strategies, and budgets.
- Effectively and routinely review reporting on operational metrics and status, making plan changes as needed.
- Set the strategic direction for QA across departments or regions.
- Lead senior QA teams across engineering, DevOps, and product functions.
- Identify the need for and drive changes in engineering processes.
- Oversee budget and accountability for assigned engineering teams.
- Document performance, obtain input from other resources, and take correct action when needed.
- Apply broader industry knowledge to assigned products.
- Drive improvements in internal processes and monitor their effectiveness.
- Establish scalable test automation and performance testing systems.
- Partner with technology leadership on release and platform quality.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Represent quality standards at executive or board level.
- Hire, mentor, and develop senior QA talent.
- Build a culture of quality and test‑first thinking across the organization.
- Maintain a fully high‑functioning and accountable engineering team.
Qualifications
Education
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Specialized Knowledge
- Must understand general programming standards, operating systems, workflow cycles, development life cycle, and terminology.
- Requires a general understanding of business operations, business terminology, and business communications.
Experience
- 14+ years of experience in QA, software engineering, or test automation.
- Track record building and scaling QA functions in health care organizations mandatory.
- Strong leadership and operational skills.
- Experience managing cross‑functional or multi‑site QA teams.
- Ability to define and evolve QA practices, tooling, and frameworks.
- Skilled in performance management, hiring, and organizational growth.
- Deep understanding of test automation, CI/CD, and quality metrics.
- Experience with compliance, risk, or security testing protocols.
- Confidence working with C‑suite, product, and engineering leadership.
Knowledge And Skills
- Strong software development skills, including automation and tooling related to systems under test.
- Ability to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate delivery of products while increasing quality.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team‑building, and conflict resolution.
- Organizational and strategic management skills, including budget and business planning and forecasting.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage human capital across multiple geographies and organizations to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.
- Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences (e.g., written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
- Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains.
- Advanced multi‑tasking and prioritization skills.
- Good understanding of the company’s policies and processes.
Impact/Scope
- Collaborates across functions to deliver multidisciplinary engineering solutions.
- Typically interacts with high‑level individual contributors, managers, directors, and VPs and SVPs for internal and external suppliers, partners, and customers.
- Drives large and complex cross‑organizational business initiatives.
