Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. seeks a Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) Engineer with deep expertise in automotive electrical and electronic (E&E) systems to ensure supplier readiness, process capability, and sustained quality performance.

You will drive technical sign-offs, support plant quality resolution, and collaborate with suppliers on SMT, traction motor processes, system architecture, and ASPICE compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical/electronic supplier assessments.
• Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO 26262 where applicable.
• Hands-on technical depth with cross-functional coordination.
• Experience with automotive standards and PPAP/APQP.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier technical assessments during sourcing and nomination phases.
• Support technical sign-off of supplier manufacturing processes, test capabilities, and product validation per design and architecture requirements.
• Ensure supplier design and development processes align with ASPICE and ISO 26262 (where applicable).
• Validate supplier software and hardware integration into overall system architecture with system and design engineers.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA and SFMEA with suppliers.
• Drive supplier readiness for new program launches, including PPAP and APQP milestones, and Run@Rate.
• Conduct process audits (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949), capability studies, and ensure conformity to IPC/AEC standards.
• Review and approve supplier control plans, test reports, traceability systems, and component validation.
• Collaborate with system architects and software engineers to integrate supplier components into vehicle platforms.

We are looking for a highly capable Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) Engineer with deep expertise in automotive electrical and electronic (E&E) systems to ensure supplier readiness, process capability, and sustained quality performance. You will drive technical sign-offs, support plant quality resolution, and work closely with suppliers to align on SMT Process, Traction Motor Process /Assembly expertise, System architecture requirements, and ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) process compliance.

This role requires both hands-on technical depth and strong cross-functional coordination to manage complex E&E commodity ( including ECUs, sensors, power electronics, and embedded systems, eAxle, Chargers)

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Development & Technical Readiness

• Lead supplier technical assessments for electrical/electronic parts during sourcing and nomination phases.
• Support technical sign-off of supplier manufacturing processes, test capabilities, and product validation per design and architecture requirements.
• Ensure supplier design and development processes align with ASPICE and ISO 26262 (where applicable).
• Validate supplier software and hardware integration into overall system architecture in collaboration with system and design engineers.
• Participate in design reviews, D-FMEA, and S-FMEA reviews with suppliers.

Project & Launch Support

• Drive supplier readiness for new program launches, including PPAP, APQP milestones, and Run@Rate.
• Conduct process audits (VDA 6.3, IATF 16949), capability studies, and ensure compliance with automotive-specific standards (IPC, AEC-Q100/Q200, etc.).
• Review and approve supplier control plans, test reports, traceability systems, and component validation.
• Collaborate with system architects and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of supplier components into vehicle platforms.

Quality & Problem Resolution

• Be the first technical escalation point for plant quality concerns related to E&E components.
• Lead root cause analysis and 8D closure for supplier-related quality incidents in production and warranty.
• Monitor supplier performance via KPIs (PPM, first-time pass, OEE, audit scores) and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Ensure effective containment, corrective action, and recurrence prevention at the supplier end.
• Support requalification and revalidation activities due to engineering changes, process changes, or quality issues.
