Job description

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm known for entrepreneurial, action-oriented professionals who take a hands-on approach to solving client problems and delivering measurable results. Its culture values integrity, quality, objectivity, fun, personal reward, and inclusive diversity. Established in India in 2023, A&M Global Capability Center Private Limited partners with leaders across business units and geographies to enable efficient service delivery and scale client-facing teams. The Gurgaon-based center combines consulting and industry expertise with automation, digital, and analytics capabilities. Unlike a traditional back-office operation, the center supports end-to-end case delivery and thought leadership across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The 900-plus-member team serves industries including Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Software & Technology, Automotive & Industrials, Hospitality & Leisure, Energy & Natural Resources, and Financial Services. This role joins the EMEA Finance shared services function supporting the UK, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, Cayman Islands, and Africa.

About the Role

The Manager, Project Revenue owns the operational control environment supporting EMEA project delivery, from client onboarding and anti-money laundering checks through project-code governance, prebilling readiness, timesheet completion, working capital follow-up, and code closure. The role leads Project Revenue Associates in India, ensuring work is accurately prioritized, completed within service expectations, and escalated when risk or client requirements demand management attention. Working with project teams and Finance, Conflicts, Risk & Compliance, the manager converts process discipline into accurate billing, compliant onboarding, improved cash conversion, and dependable client service. The role reports to the Project Revenue Manager in London and combines hands‑on execution with people leadership, process documentation, training support, complex-query resolution, and readiness for ERP changes. Success means a controlled project lifecycle, responsive stakeholder support, stronger team capability, and timely financial outcomes across the EMEA business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own client onboarding and end-to-end AML coordination for EMEA projects, using internal controls and renewal tracking to keep engagements compliant, active, and ready for client delivery.
  • Lead conflict-check procedures and renewals, escalating temporary project-code extensions for approval so commercial activity continues without exposing the company to unmanaged risk.
  • Oversee project-code creation, client-portfolio setup, data updates, and completed-code closure across business systems, maintaining accurate records that support billing, reporting, and operational control.
  • Monitor expired AML codes and follow up with stakeholders for renewal, using exception reporting to reduce compliance gaps and protect project continuity across the supported EMEA markets.
  • Drive billing readiness by ensuring project teams complete timesheets promptly and meet additional client financial requirements, improving billing accuracy and reducing avoidable revenue delays.
  • Support working‑capital management by reviewing project balances and timelines with project teams, converting operational follow‑up into faster cash conversion and clearer financial visibility.
  • Manage and develop Project Revenue Associates in India by allocating workload, resolving complex queries, documenting procedures, and adapting team capacity to changing business priorities.
  • Build effective partnerships with Finance, Conflicts, Risk & Compliance, and project teams while supporting ERP implementation training and additional activities required by the wider function.
  • Mandatory experience in client onboarding, AML checks, and conflict-check coordination within a professional services organization, with practical ownership of end-to-end engagement controls and renewals.
  • Proven people-management experience leading AML or Project Revenue professionals, including workload delegation, coaching, performance support, complex-query resolution, and development of a collaborative local team.
  • Strong operational control, reporting, and systems capability across project-code administration, client portfolios, timesheets, prebilling, working capital, and ERP or business-system workflows.
Additional Plus
  • Experience supporting finance operations for consulting, legal, accounting, or another professional services environment with complex client engagements and cross-border stakeholders.
  • Exposure to ERP implementation, process redesign, training documentation, or service-transition initiatives that improve control, adoption, and delivery consistency.
  • Experience supporting EMEA or other international markets, with the communication skills and cultural awareness needed to work effectively across time zones.
What You'll Bring
  • You bring 8–13 years of experience, including at least eight years in AML and client onboarding processes within a professional services environment, with direct ownership of controls that protect client acceptance and project execution.
  • You have managed AML professionals or comparable operational teams and can set priorities, delegate work, coach colleagues, and create a supportive environment where quality and accountability are visible in daily delivery.
  • You are highly accurate and organized, able to manage project-code data, AML renewals, conflict checks, timesheet compliance, prebilling requirements, and working-capital follow-up without losing sight of deadlines or stakeholder needs.
  • You communicate confidently with colleagues at all levels and demonstrate emotional intelligence when handling complex queries, changing priorities, escalations, and cross-functional dependencies across Finance, Conflicts, Risk & Compliance, and client teams.
  • You work proactively in a fast-paced environment, learn new systems and processes quickly, and translate undocumented knowledge into clear procedures, training materials, and repeatable controls that strengthen team performance.
  • You are a collaborative, hands‑on operator who combines sound judgment with a strong work ethic and remains focused on service quality, compliance, accurate billing, and timely cash conversion.
Why Join Us
  • Join a rapidly growing India capability center that works directly with global business units and client-facing case teams, giving you meaningful ownership beyond a traditional back‑office finance role.
  • Build international exposure by supporting the EMEA Finance organization across the UK, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, Cayman Islands, and Africa while partnering with stakeholders across functions and time zones.
  • Grow through formal performance development, technical training, and on-the-job learning that recognize contribution, strengthen leadership capability, and create opportunities to acquire new skills and advance your career.
  • Work in a culture that values entrepreneurial action, independent thinking, integrity, quality, objectivity, inclusive diversity, and practical results while supporting high-performing professionals through an engaging employee experience.
What We Offer
  • A Gurgaon-based on-site role with the opportunity to lead a growing India Project Revenue team supporting a global EMEA finance function.
  • Structured performance development, technical training, formal learning, and on-the-job opportunities that support continuous development, recognize contributions, and help employees progress professionally.
  • Well-being benefits and personal resources designed to support employees through their professional and personal journeys, alongside a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Broad exposure to global consulting operations, cross-functional finance controls, client onboarding, AML, project revenue, working capital, and ERP-enabled process improvement.
