Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Manager Projects with a strong background in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project planning, execution, process engineering, design coordination, project governance, and stakeholder management, with a particular emphasis on biotechnology projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Execution

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, with particular emphasis on biotechnology projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
• Manage the complete project lifecycle, from initiation through execution to closure.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules using MS Project.

2. Stakeholder and Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, sponsors, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and provide progress updates.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and obtain necessary approvals.
• Coordinate with internal design teams, clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Attend client meetings and travel to project sites during execution.

3. Team Leadership and Resource Management

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, resolve project roadblocks, and foster team collaboration.
• Track resource utilization and undertake capacity planning.
• Ensure optimal utilization of project resources.
• Independently manage multiple projects and priorities.

4. Budget and Cost Management

• Manage project budgets and monitor project financials.
• Prepare budgetary cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Conduct technical and commercial bid analysis based on enquiry specifications.
• Monitor project costs, timelines, and resource requirements.

5. Project Governance, Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain project documentation and governance standards.
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
• Coordinate procurement activities and prepare procurement status reports.
• Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on project scope, timelines, and costs.
• Ensure appropriate approval and implementation of project changes.

6. Process Engineering and Technical Design

• Prepare conceptual designs, basic designs, and associated technical reports.
• Prepare Process and Utility Equipment Lists.
• Perform process calculations, including:
• Equipment sizing
• Process and utility line sizing
• Pump sizing
• Heat exchanger sizing
• Safety valve sizing
• Control valve sizing
• Prepare RDS and plot layouts.
• Develop equipment layouts, tank farm layouts, and utility equipment layouts.
• Prepare process data sheets and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate the preparation of process P&IDs and utility generation and distribution P&IDs.
• Participate in Plant 3D model reviews and coordinate with design teams during piping design.
• Conduct and participate in HAZOP studies.

7. Procurement and Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors and internal engineering teams.
• Support procurement activities and monitor procurement progress.
• Prepare procurement status reports and coordinate technical and commercial bid evaluations.

8. Regulatory Compliance and Engineering Standards

• Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations, engineering codes, and statutory requirements.
• Apply knowledge of cGMP norms, CCOE and OISD norms, and Factory Inspectorate Rules.
• Ensure engineering designs and project deliverables adhere to relevant codes and standards.

Required Technical Competencies

• Proven experience in setting up biotechnology projects and chemical manufacturing facilities.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in engineering design calculations, equipment sizing, heat exchanger sizing, and vent valve sizing.
• Understanding of operational and production activities, industry regulations, guidelines, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with process engineering, utility systems, equipment layouts, and P&IDs.
• Ability to independently manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities.

Experience Required

Preferred Candidate Profile: Candidates with hands‑on experience in biotechnology project setup, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing facilities, multidisciplinary engineering coordination, and end-to-end project execution will be preferred.
