Job summary

RTX, based in Bengaluru, seeks a senior Engineering/Operations leader to drive Work Transfers and New Product Introductions. You will lead cross-functional teams across Operations, Quality, SCM and Engineering from concept (RFQ) through to full production handover, ensuring readiness and risk mitigation through stage-gate processes.

The role requires a BE with 10–15 years of experience in aerospace/manufacturing, strong leadership, and expertise in PPAP/APQP, MRL, and RCCA.

Qualifications

• BE degree required with extensive experience (10–15 years) in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional team management.
• Experience with PPAP/APQP and stage-gate processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Work Transfers and New Product Introductions (NPI) and technology projects.
• Direct cross-functional teams to design and industrialize new work introductions from RFQ to production handover.
• Manage lifecycle through formal gate reviews and production handover.
• Oversee MRL, FMEA, PFMEA and RCCA to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for component availability.
• Establish project baselines for cost, schedule, and quality and report to leadership.
• Drive manufacturing plans, instructions, tooling, and fixture requirements.
• Align R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations for successful launches.
• Ensure manufacturing readiness assessments and maturation plans.
• Chair Work Transfer and NPI Gate processes and Production Readiness Reviews.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading Work Transfers and New Work Introductions .Which includes make to make , New Product Introductions and Technology Projects .
• Leadership: Direct a cross-functional team of Operations, Quality, SCM and Engineering to design and industrialize new work Introduction, from initial design concept (RFQ) through to full production handover.
• Lifecycle Management: Lead products through formal stage-gate processes (e.g., PPAP, APQP) from initial bid and concept to production handover.
• Risk Mitigation: Manage Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) and conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and resolve production risks early.
• Supply Chain Integration: Collaborate with procurement and external suppliers to ensure component availability and manufacturing capability.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve technical or supply chain risks using PFMEA and root-cause analysis (RCCA).
• Technical Reporting: Establish project baselines for cost, schedule, and quality, providing regular updates to senior leadership and customers.
• Cost & Schedule Control: Establish and monitor project baselines for cost, schedule, and scope, frequently reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
• Process Development: Drive the creation of manufacturing plans, work instructions, tooling, and fixture requirements.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Align diverse departments—including R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations—to achieve successful launch goals.
• Manufacturing Readiness: Oversee Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments and maturation plans to ensure production lines are capable and stable.
• Gate Review Management: Chair and manage Work Transfer and NPI Gate processes, Design Gate reviews, and Production Readiness Reviews.
