Job summary

Centum Electronics Ltd in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned Manufacturing Process Leader with 19+ years in EMS to define and maintain manufacturing processes, ensuring Cp/Cpk >1.33 and on-time delivery.

You will drive SPC-based health checks, tool qualification, NPI collaboration, and continuous improvement with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and operators to raise yields and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• 19+ years of experience in the EMS domain, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of key EMS processes: SMT, Wave soldering, manual soldering, conformal coating, press fit, potting & gluing
• SPC knowledge is preferable
• Familiarity with improvement methodologies like Six Sigma is preferred

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
• Attain Cp/Cpk > 1.33 and monitor process health using SPC
• Qualify new manufacturing processes for NPIs and products
• Prepare machine-specific programs and tooling requirements for new products
• Collaborate with NPI/Product engineering to define manufacturing tooling

CENTUM EMS –The Electronics Manufacturing Services business unit addresses high -technology high-complexity products in the defense, aerospace, industrial, medical, automotive and telecommunications segments. The offerings include Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), system integration, PCBA, test, environmental screening and repair & return services. This team also provides mechanical solutions to various requirements in the field of plastics and sheet metal for the industrial customers.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for setting and maintaining the defined manufacturing process at its optimal level in order to meet the customer requirements across the shopfloor.
• Ensure that systems are in place to monitor the health of the process followed and attain best in the industry standards.
• Systematic Introduction and qualification of the new manufacturing process required to realize the customer requirements (New Process qualification).
• Identifying the key inputs and output parameters of the defined manufacturing process, understanding the relationship between the same and optimizing them in order to meet the customer requirements.
• Systematic approach (Eg: six sigma approach) to define the new manufacturing process to meet customer requirements on time.
• Arrive at the optimal process settings to achieve a Cp / Cpk of > 1.33.
• Understanding of the machines with their hardware and software required to realize the process.
• Preparing the detailed work instruction for the operators to operate the machine in order to realize the product.
• Defining the technical capabilities of the machine and process.
• Participate in meetings with NPI / Product engineering to define and validate the product specific manufacturing tooling required for the defined process.
• Performing periodic process health check through SPC to ensure consistent performance of the process.
• Preparing machine specific programs and setting the process for new products.
• Participating in the CFT to identify and improve the process to achieve consistent yield.
• Interact with suppliers to ensure good process health and systems in place.
• Training of the subordinates on the processes to achieve the multiskilling. Setting and maintaining the identified manufacturing process at its optimal level to meet customer requirements.
• Successful introduction of the new manufacturing process required to realize the customer requirements.
• Continuous improvement in process to optimize the process specific yields and cost.

Key goals to achieve:

• Yield targets of 97.5 % at each manufacturing stage.
• ETE yield monitoring and improvement plan.
• Implementation and monitoring of SPC at critical areas in the manufacturing process flow and attain it to 6 sigma level.
• Train team members in multiskilling, Kaizen and Business Excellence projects for continual improvement.

Who You Are?

• 19+ Years of experience in the above defined area Preferably in EMS industry.
• Working knowledge on Key EMS manufacturing processes like SMT process, Wave soldering, Manual Soldering, Conformal coating, Press fit, Potting and Gluing.
• Knowledge on SPC is preferable.
• Knowledge on Improvement methodologies like Six sigma is preferred.
