Job summary

Bajaj Electricals Ltd. is seeking an Engineer - Design Quality & Compliance in Navi Mumbai. You will support regulatory and industry standards for safety, performance and quality in NPD projects, update guidelines, and close audit observations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include applying DFMEA, HBSRA, validating test reports, ensuring BIS/ BEE compliance, and maintaining regulatory documentation for submissions and certifications.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical/Electricals.
• 0-5 years experience in QA/DQC or certification bodies.
• Familiar with IS 9001:2015 & ISO 17025.

Responsibilities

• Design Quality Process: drive projects per NPD milestones and deliver DQC deliverables.
• Verify design quality plans and methodologies for product design and development.
• Design Quality Tools: review DFMEA, HBSRA, FCR for new projects with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in prototype/N10 test reports for safety, performance & reliability per NPD requirements.
• Collaborate validation activities to ensure product meets user needs and intended use.
• Regulatory Compliance: monitor regulations and directives domestically and internationally.
• Prepare and verify testing to meet BIS/BEE standards; develop standard requirements for product categories.
• Assist in obtaining product certifications and approvals.
• Understand test protocols and methodologies; support factory license implementation.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory submissions including test reports and technical files.
• Coordinate internal audits monthly/biannual/annual for compliance.
• Support surveillance and recertification audits.

REPORTING TO : Engineering Manager - Design Quality & Compliance

BU / DIVISION : Research & Development

JOB PURPOSE

As an Engineer - Design Quality & Compliance is support/assist to meet all relevant regulatory & industry standards for safety, performance & quality in NPD projects. Assist in getting the latest regulatory guidelines update & continuously verifying the standards. Active member to close the audit observations alignment of respective function for the closure. Good

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design Quality Process:
• Support to drive the projects as per the NPD Milestone process & active member to deliver the DQC deliverables as per milestone process.
• Support to verify the Design quality plans, and methodologies for product design and development.
• Design Quality Tools Application:
• Collaborate with CFT in reviewing the Design Review, DFMEA, HBSRA, FCR prediction for new projects.
• Active member to participate in the prototype/N10 test reports in aspect of Safety, performance & warranty / reliability terms as per NPD requirements.
• Collaborate validation activities to confirm that the product meets the needs of the user and intended use.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Support to monitor and understand relevant regulations, standards, and directives that impact the product, both domestically and internationally.
• Support in Compliance Testing Plan preparation, coordinate, and verify the testing to meet regulatory standards like BIS/ BEE.
• Assist in Develop and implement standard requirements of all relevant product category.
• Product Certification:
• Support in obtaining necessary certifications and approvals for products.
• Good understanding of test protocols & test methodologies.
• Collaborating with CFT for the implementation of factory License.
• Documentation & reporting:
• Assist in Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for regulatory submissions, including test reports, technical files, and compliance statements.
• Support in generating regular compliance requirements for NPD /LCM Projects.
• Active member in participation of internal audits Monthly / Biannual / Annual to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and standards.
• Support to Coordinate in Surveillance audits & recertification audits.
• Good understanding of Technical Clearance of USP/ Claims
• Continuously enhance the learning skills & capabilities to support in driving better business performances.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.E, B. Tech/ M.E, M. tech- Mechanical/Electricals & Electronics.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 0 to 5 years
• Worked in QA / DQC role & certification bodies.

CERTIFICATIONS

• FMEA Training Certification
• 7 QC tools /SPC /MSA
• QMS - ISO 9001 -2015 / ISO 17025 training Certification.
• Internal Auditor Certification (optional)

PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

• Industry Preference - Consumer durables /Lighting products - QA /DQC,
• Certification Bodies in QA / technical lead.
• Good understanding & knowledge on IS 9001 :2015 & ISO 17025 :2017.
