Job summary

Adani Group seeks a senior Mechanical Maintenance professional for CHP plants to lead preventive and predictive maintenance across coal handling assets. You will drive reliability improvements, oversee shutdowns, and manage maintenance teams and contractors in a large-scale thermal power environment.

The role requires 12-18 years in mechanical maintenance with 7+ years in CHP, and hands-on experience with conveyors, crushers, and stacker-reclaimers in 300 MW+ plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory (B.E./B.Tech).
• 12-18 years total maintenance experience.
• At least 7 years CHP maintenance experience.
• Experience in Thermal Power Plants or large captive plants.
• Experience with conveyors, crushers, stackers and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities of CHP equipment.
• Ensure uninterrupted coal unloading, conveying, crushing, stacking, reclaiming, and bunker feeding operations.
• Maintain and improve reliability of conveyors, crushers, screens, stacker reclaimers, and related equipment.
• Monitor CHP equipment health and implement reliability improvements to reduce outages.
• Plan and execute annual shutdowns, overhauls, and capital repair jobs.
• Drive condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis and lubrication management.
• Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, C&I, Boiler, and Fuel Management teams for seamless operations.
• Supervise contractors and maintenance teams to ensure safe, quality execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, PTW procedures, and regulations.

Job description

• Lead preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities of Coal Handling Plant (CHP) equipment.
• Ensure uninterrupted coal unloading, conveying, crushing, stacking, reclaiming, and bunker feeding operations to support generation requirements.
• Maintain and improve reliability of conveyors, crushers, screens, stacker reclaimers, paddle feeders, plough feeders, trippers, vibrating feeders, and associated equipment.
• Monitor CHP equipment health and implement reliability improvement initiatives to reduce forced outages and recurring failures.
• Plan and execute annual shutdowns, overhauls, major maintenance activities, and capital repair jobs.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication management, and predictive maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, C&I, Boiler, and Fuel Management teams to ensure seamless coal handling operations.
• Monitor coal feeding systems, bunkering operations, and conveyor availability to meet generation targets.
• Optimize maintenance costs, spare consumption, inventory levels, and contractor productivity.
• Ensure effective management of critical spares, conveyor belts, gearboxes, pulleys, idlers, motors, couplings, and crusher components.
• Supervise contractors, service providers, and maintenance teams to ensure safe and quality execution of maintenance activities.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, fire protection requirements, dust suppression systems, PTW procedures, and statutory regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment availability, MTBF improvement, and reduction in coal handling losses.
• Develop and mentor maintenance teams through technical training, performance management, and succession planning.

Experience Requirements (Must Have)

Mandatory Experience

• 12-18 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Coal Handling Plant (CHP) Maintenance.
• Experience in Thermal Power Plants or Large Captive Power Plants.
• Experience in maintenance of coal conveying and material handling systems.
• Exposure to utility-scale power plants of 300 MW and above.
• Experience handling shutdowns, overhauls, and reliability improvement programs.
• Experience managing maintenance teams, contractors, and OEMs.
• Working knowledge of SAP PM or equivalent CMMS systems.
