Mercados Energy Markets India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Team Leader – Tariff & Regulatory Functional Consultant cum Power Sector Expert to lead tariff filings and regulatory advisory across the energy value chain.

The role demands 12+ years in the power sector, on-site experience in retainership projects, and coordination with SERC/CERC, utilities, and regulators. Base location is Jabalpur, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Tackle tariff determination and regulatory compliance across the power sector.
• Prepare petitions for MYT, True-up, and project tariffs per SERC/CERC rules.
• Coordinate with utilities, regulators and stakeholders.
• On-site retainership project experience is preferred.

• We are seeking a highly experienced Team Leader – Tariff & Regulatory Functional Consultant cum Power Sector Expert to lead regulatory and tariff-related consultancy assignments.
• The role involves end-to-end management of tariff filings, regulatory advisory, financial planning, and stakeholder coordination with utilities and regulatory commissions.

C. Detailed expectations from the role:

• Lead consultancy assignments related to tariff determination, regulatory compliance, and policy advisory.
• Oversee preparation and filing of Multi-Year Tariff (MYT), True-up, and project tariff petitions before regulatory commissions.
• Provide strategic inputs on regulatory frameworks, tariff regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with SERC/CERC, utilities, and other stakeholders for regulatory approvals and submissions.
• Support preparation of regulatory documentation, petitions, and responses to queries.
• Ensure compliance with technical, commercial, and regulatory policies across projects
• Lead internal teams and ensure timely delivery, quality assurance, and effective coordination.

D. Required skill set

• Experience in the Power with expertise in Tariff & Regulatory matters
• Experience in drafting of petitions for Generating companies in accordance with the SERC/CERC Regulations

E. Education and Experience

Atleast 12 years of experience in the power sector including, including expertise in Tariff and Regulatory matters with 5+ years on site experience in retainership projects in the power sector.

• B.E./B.Tech with MBA/ PGDM/ PGDBM (equivalent to MBA) (with Finance electives/Finance specialization) from a recognize Institute/ University OR Chartered Accountant (CA).

F. Location

• Base location shall be Jabalpur. However, the role would require the applicant to undertake travel for pursuing various opportunities.
