Job summary

Recex.co seeks a Lead Engineer to oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of GA drawings, piping layouts, and equipment drawings for turnkey sugar, refinery, and ethanol plant projects. You will coordinate with the draftsman team and ensure execution-ready documentation with high accuracy.

You will lead and mentor draftsmen, review drawings for project standards, and support tendering with technical inputs to ensure timely delivery to site and production teams.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in mechanical engineering is required.
• Lead of Engineering oversees drawings, layouts and detailing for turnkey plant projects.
• Roles include coordinating draftsman team and supporting execution with precise docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise draftsman team for GA drawings, piping layouts, equipment and structural drawings.
• Review and approve all engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate with Design Head to translate approved designs into execution-ready drawings.
• Standardize drawing formats, symbols and practices across projects.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings and documentation to project, production and site teams.
• Work with project managers, site engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve drawing issues.
• Conduct quality checks to minimize fabrication and site errors.
• Train, mentor and evaluate draftsmen for technical skill improvement.
• Support tendering/proposal teams with layout drawings and inputs.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise preferred in engineering drawings, layouts, and detailing for sugar/process equipment and plants.
• Knowledge of process house equipment including evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, and clarifiers.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works and other drafting/design software.
• Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and standardization.
• Understanding of quality standards and best practices in engineering drawings.
• Leadership and people management skills to guide draftsmen.
• Strong coordination and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
