Job summary

Jungheinrich India in Maharashtra seeks a seasoned Pre-Sales Support & Solution Engineering professional to translate customer requirements into practical controls and integration scopes. You will prepare budgetary and detailed estimates for PLCs, panels, field devices, and software interfaces, review supplier proposals, and define architecture and interfaces for complex material handling projects.

You will lead supplier networks, coordinate ERP/WMS/WES/WCS interfaces, and act as technical owner

Qualifications

• Pre-sales and solution engineering experience for industrial automation.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into controls, software, and integration scopes.
• Experience in cost estimation across PLCs, panels, field devices, and software interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Support customer discussions and translate requirements into practical controls and integration scope.
• Prepare budgetary and detailed estimates covering PLCs, panels, field devices, safety systems, and software interfaces.
• Review supplier proposals for technical completeness, compliance, interfaces, and risks.
• Define supply boundaries and architecture, controls philosophy, and interface concepts.
• Develop supplier network for PLCs, WCS/WES, conveyors, AGVs/AMRs, and industrial networking.
• Coordinate interfaces among ERP, WMS, WES, WCS, PLC systems, and field equipment.
• Act as technical owner during project execution and oversee FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Ensure final documentation, source-code handover, backups, licenses, and training deliverables.
• Localization & Capability Development for AWE projects in India.
• Drive cost optimization and lessons learned for future projects.

Job description

• Pre-Sales Support & Solution Engineering
• Support customer discussions and translate requirements into practical controls, software, and integration scopes.
• Prepare budgetary and detailed estimates covering PLCs, panels, field devices, safety systems, industrial networks, HMI/SCADA, software interfaces, engineering, testing, and commissioning.
• Review supplier proposals for technical completeness, compliance, exclusions, interfaces, and risks.
• Define supply boundaries and support solution architecture, controls philosophy, interface concepts, scope documents, and technical proposal inputs.
• Supplier Identification & Technical Evaluation
• Develop and maintain a capable supplier network for PLC and controls engineering, WCS/WES, conveyor and ASRS controls, AGV/AMR integration, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networking.
• Assess supplier competence, capacity, references, standards, documentation, service capability, and commercial competitiveness.
• Conduct technical bid comparisons, support negotiations, and establish reusable cost benchmarks and estimation templates.
• Controls & Software Integration Engineering
• Define and review controls and integration architecture, including PLC hardware, I/O, industrial networks, communication protocols, HMI concepts, and safety interfaces.
• Coordinate interfaces among ERP, WMS, WES, WCS, PLC systems, ASRS equipment, conveyors, cranes, shuttle systems, sortation, AGVs/AMRs, and peripheral equipment.
• Review FDS, interface specifications, I/O lists, electrical drawings, and supplier software design documents.
• Support interface mapping, data-point definition, exception handling, test-case preparation, and end-to-end validation.
• Project Execution & Implementation
• Act as technical owner for controls, software, and system integration during project execution.
• Monitor engineering deliverables, interface milestones, approvals, testing plans, supplier actions, risks, deviations, change requests, and open points.
• Coordinate with customer IT/OT teams, equipment suppliers, software partners, global stakeholders, project managers, and site teams.
• Lead or support design reviews, FAT, interface testing, SAT, commissioning, ramp-up, performance testing, and handover.
• Ensure completeness of final documentation, source-code handover requirements, backups, licences, manuals, test records, and training deliverables.
• Localization & Capability Development
• Develop standard controls concepts, specifications, checklists, architectures, and BOMs for AWE projects in India.
• Support standardization of PLCs, drives, safety devices, sensors, panels, networking components, and field hardware.
• Drive localization, value engineering, cost optimization, make-or-buy assessments, and lessons learned for future projects.
